Exciting times and new service at Signals
Posted by: Signals UK on 01 April 2017
As many of you already know, we will be moving to our new premises at the beginning of May 2017. Our latest piece of signals staff news is significant.
Our new HQ is a former Roman Catholic Church in Trimley, Suffolk. It was named after the patron saint of music, St Cecilia, and is being only slightly re-titled ‘St Cecilia’s House’ to maintain this pertinent connection.
The process of obtaining change of use from a public building was not entirely straightforward for us, although we were ultimately successful. It turned out that there was also a covenant in place, however, and this stipulated that we must maintain a suitable level of pastoral care.
We’ve often joked that we offer therapy as part of our service but it’s now essential for us to formalise this aspect of our work. Still, where better to do this than in a building equipped with its own confessional space?
We are therefore delighted to introduce Dr Hertz von Lautsprecher as the latest member of our team. He will be on site on Wednesdays and Fridays. As you may have guessed from the name, Hertz is German, so it’s sad to reflect on the possibility that he may only be with us for a couple of years.
Whilst his specialism is the incredibly useful Irrational Emotive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, he is well versed in the full range of human conditions, particularly with respect to financial outlay, or being Vorsichtig mit Geld, as they say in Germany. Whether this means he will convince you of the need to abandon or continue with a proposed purchase, only time, and our continued existence, will tell.
For the three days per week when he is not with us, Hertz already has his own successful therapy practice which can be found at hertztherapist.co.uk.
