Hi Folks,

Does anyone have any experience with both of these cd players that can give me a detailed comparison?

Sorry can't help but why do you ask?

I currently have a CD3.5 and recently picked up a Nait 5i, but now I'm not happy with the sound. I did get the NACA5's and even genuine Naim Din to Din interconnect cable, but it didn't change anything. I either have to resell the 5i and go with another integrated (perhaps back to a Creek 5350SE or something) or keep the 5i and go with another cd player. My problems is that since getting the 5i, I don't have the low bass response I once had when using the Creek. Also, the mids with both naim pieces is too full for me. I've thought about backing off the midrange contour adjustment on my Vandersteen 2c (currently at zero) but I'm not sure if that will solve anything. So that got me wondering which Naim component is the better of the two at what they do?

I have been using the 3.5 for the last 17 years and before that I had an older Rotel player (RCD 950) which cost new at the time around $550. Personally, I much prefer the livelier sound of the Naim but it is a matter of taste. The Rotel was very well built and shined with classical music.
