Sad that his albums are just re-released in highres in some shop. Sad that they started a fundraising to pay for the funeral. Nevertheless RIP.

This is a dreadfully sad loss. Allan changed the way of looking at the fretboard, which led to his innovative glissando approach. He was a true innovator on the guitar. Very sad news indeed.

Was listening to Alan last night playing on Tony Williams Believe it album. Stunningly exciting guitarist. A great loss.

another day, another great.

maybe the best of his genre, he truly invented a new way to play guitar. and a pretty good writer too.

What a sad loss, a fine guitarist and composer, great innovator, living in West Yorkshire it seems a surprisingly personal loss as a couple of guitarist friends have commented on how much he influenced them in their youth.
