Control SuperNait from Raspberry Pi

Hi

I have currently a SuperNait 1 and my main source is a Raspberry Pi which has a DragonFly Dac in one of its USB ports.

Raspberry Pi is hardwired to the network and my music is stored on the NAS.

This works nicely and gives pretty good value for money.

Since my SuperNait is in a different room, I cannot use the remote control. I could add an IR extention cable to the SuperNaits RC5 port, but I like the idea of having an App on my mobile phone (which I always use to control the music) and via the Rasberry Pi control the SuperNait.

Since there is a DragonFly Dac on the RPi, I have the normal audio jack available on the RPi.

Could I use that in some way to control the SuperNait? I'd like to use the Volume Control and switching the inputs.

I do have a programming / unix background, but RC codes are new for me, have no understanding of the limitations there. Possibly I could program something ...

Thanks

LIRC definitely works on the RPi and is the basis for quite a few existing remote-control products on the market.

David, thank you, I'll check that out.
