Streaming by using URL and MP3 streams only?

Posted by: dzambolaja on 22 April 2017

1.  Why are Naim streamers limited to online streaming services such as vTuner etc. and cannot stream directly from a user entered URL?

2.  Why is only MP3 internet streaming possible and RealPlayer is notl?  vTuner finds RealPlayer streams in its database, and saves them in the custom list, but the note says that Naim streamers cannot play them - why ???

1. You can enter your own URLs to vtuner by going to naim.vtuner.com - I don't know if this will allow you to do what you're trying to do, but it may help.

2. IIRC Realplayer is a proprietary format, it's a money thing. I also recall there being privacy concerns around using the RealPlayer software on PCs. It might be that neither of those issues apply nowadays, but I'd suspect the former might be the reason.

www.naim.vtuner.com does not work. I know I used this site to setup my ns01 when it came back in January but something has changed.

It may be the wrong address, but if so I cannot remember the correct one.

According to the support pages, this should be the address to use. Unfortunately it does not work:

http://myradio.naimaudio.com

But this address seems to work:

http://myradio.naimaudio.com/s...AuthLogin/SignIn.asp

Strange, you are right.

I get the same issue, but now:

http://naim.vtuner.com

works.

Something is unstable on vtuners side of things.
