Naim app has stopped playing music from server

I have a Uniti-2 connected to a Mac mini acting as a server. The Mac runs JRiver Media Centre 21 and the operation system is 10.9.5. All did work perfectly but yesterday I tried to use my Naim app on my iPad and iPhone and while the Naim app can still see the music library, when I want to play a song, it does not work. I can play songs when I use the JRemote app or when I navigate directly from the Naim Remote. I have to admit that I was tinkering a bit with the JRiver server software on my Mac but I don't actually think that I changed anything. Any idea what the problem is ?

Try killing the app and restarting it. It that doesn't work, turn the Uniti off and on again. These may sound like very basic suggestions, but they usually fix it.

Thanks. This were the first things I did. Also restarted server and Mac but no luck.

Have you tried clearing both cache(s)

I have cleared cache of UPnP. Not sure what other cache I should clear.

Ok done. But no effect. When I try to play an album the app simply says 'No track playing, and only shows a symbol, which I think is for UPnP. It feels like there is something that does not let the Naim app take control anymore but it can still see what is there.

I don't know Mac mini & JRiver,  but maybe the IT 'when all else fails' trick.     Turn it all off including wireless hub & then restart in sequence,  wireless first (let it finish)  Mac,  Uniti & iPad

Done exactly as suggested but no luck. I even uninstalled JRemote, i.e. the app for JRiver, from my iPhone as I thought it might interfere.

Sorry MP but I'm out of ideas, you've done everything that normally solves my glitches with Synology, iPad, NDX & wireless  ..........   hopefully someone who knows Mac & JRiver has the answer.

I have developed a procedure throughout the years, which in parts or in total works

1 - switch of your Naim stuff and even take it for a period 30 second fully off the electricity

2 - switch off your NASA server and restart

3 - plug and unplug network cables, this saved me recently (on all sides)

4 - empty cache everywhere

5 - check to eliminate

  - does Tidal still work

   - does direct play without app work

   - do. Radio stations work...

 

if if nothing works, call dealer...
