I just want to wish Alastair, Rhea and Andy the very best of luck with their auspicious move and any of you lucky enough to attend the Holy Affair of the grand opening, please make sure and report back.

Good luck to Alastair, Andy and Rhea.
Just had a quick look at their site. I suspect that we may hear quite a bit about the Rega PL3 record player and Ania MC which Rega will be demming ....

I'm off there sometime this morning, camera in hand. Having visited the new gaff previously during its conversion I can report it's gonna be very good indeed.
Tony - I put my name down for tomorrow later. I'm sure all concerned will be received its finally happened ![]()
I may well be there tomorrow as well Simon. Might see you there!
Very best wishes to Alastair and the team for a thoroughly well deserved success after their tremendous investment of time, effort & money. I look forward to visiting in the near future.
Tony, Simon, all, have an enjoyable visit (or 2!)
Best regards, FT
I will also attend tomorrow, look forward to seeing you all and the new premises.

Unfortunately I can't make this time round but good luck.
I am scheduled for Saturday. Looking forward to the opportunity to see/hear some good kit and ponce a few free sarnies of course.
A very fine opening day! Many thanks to Alastair, Andy, and Rhea for laying on such an excellent event, and to Nick From Suffolk for the extra-special coffee. Special thanks also for the special guest, on his last day in front of the public before retiring - quite a scoop there for Signals I thought.
The acoustics in the main atrium are remarkably good for such a large space, and similarly the two demo rooms sounded pretty good, just like most folks' rooms. Very tastefully decorated and a comfortable environment for listening sessions. I could have slept on those comfy chairs.
Here are a few photos I took once I'd remembered I'd brought a camera along...

Tony, any thoughts on the uniti nova, star etc through the Focals and are they pic speakers?
The very best of luck Alistair, sorry we are not going to be able to get over for the opening, both of us really wanted to be there but sadly can't make it.
Lets hope everyone has a great time over the weekend. I look forward to hearing great reports and seeing photo's of the event.
Kind regards
PB
Thanks all. Thanks Tony for the excellent piccies. Phil worked really hard, bless him. And all for a kebab.
Too bad I wasn't able to attend before the next time, when I'll need a passport, a VISA and dogs sniffing me for traces of Europe at the Dover wall...
Joking. Best wishes Alastair and all, you know I am one of your sincerest fans.

An ingenious way to keep my photofit picture out of the mainstream press!

Can I take that as the green light to post your actual physiog then Nick? ![]()
Good luck for the new premises Alastair and Andy. I hope you have a great weekend and fingers crossed the weather stays fine.
Best wishes, Peter
Felicitations from Asgaard, with polos!![]()
Looks smart. Was that switched sockets I saw?
Good luck !
An enjoyable session was had at the new Signals church of music. Although HiFi was present in the three listening zones, I found it a comfortable chill-out to music experience and had to be prompted for ejection from one of the rooms when I'd hogged the best seat for too long. I did indulge myself on the big system for a while too: NDS-2x555PS DR - Statement - Sopra 2 with SL loom and it did what I'd expect it to do, filling the main congregation zone with music with ease.
Nice to see the new Naim devices and talk with the guys - and the Rega room was very nicely producing music too. Suitably enthused with very strong coffee and some nice cake I departed with a very positive experience of the new Signals establishment. The three music rooms were each comfortable and incrementally-sized to show what can be achieved in typical UK homes - although the main 'church' room was somewhat exceptional! ![]()
DB.
What a fantastic looking place and good to see a nice mix of systems on show. Another good reason to move to Suffolk ![]()
Visited this morning and would agree they have a nice set up. Russell K was demoing the 120K speakers, certainly make you sit up and take notice, though possibly fatiguing over a long session? Nova sounded good through Focsl No 1,s as did the Star. The Nova and PMC 26,s, seemed uninvolving, though was not an ideal set up. All in all, very enjoyable.
I'm just back from The Suffolk Cathedral of Sound. It is a truly exceptional space and could hardly have been any better or more architecturally pleasing as a bespoke build. There are two 'real world', modestly proportioned listening rooms with superb acoustics; plus a larger main space which was producing wonderful sounds via a set of Statement amps and a pair of Kudos 808 Titans.
Another vote for the brilliant value (£2,750) Russell K 120 loudspeakers, which were making delightfully engaging music via relatively modest Rega and Naim amplification. So too, was the integrated £4k ish Naim Nova/Star/Atom/Uniti (?) streaming box into Focal Sopra 1's.
Many thanks to Alastair, Andy and all the contributors for their hard work. I suspect that something will be dragging me back there to sample more audio delights, in the not too distant future.
John.
Having had the delight of spending 2 whole days and with the final day to come in a few hours I have had a good opportunity to listen to a range of systems. (And discover that I would not meet the minimum grade required of even the most incompetent Charbucks barista.)
The big Kudos speakers replaced the Focal Sopra 2 on Friday and brought a significant extra weight and finesse in the bass. (Unfortunately the LP12 disappeared into Andy's work room at the same time, but should reappear today.) I love listening to the big Statement system; I will never be able to afford it, but to listen to high quality sourced music through it almost seems life affirming and an occasional fix is all I ask.
On Thursday night my wife and I were having a relaxing end-of-day moment in the 'Russell K room'' and were asked by Russell to help him set up the speaker position. A fascinating hour followed in which the speakers' positions were moved over seemingly trivial little distances to first of all check bass tunefulness (distance to back wall), sound stage (separation between each and distance from the side wall) and finally mid-range realism (degree of toe in). I am going to have to do something similar at home after hearing the significant (in music reproduction terms) changes that could be made. On the back end of a very modest (cheap) Rega amp/CD they sounded very engaging and were lifted a notch or two with a middle range 272/250.
One thing I still don't get is streaming, Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz etc etc. The characteristic of almost everything played was a congested, horrible sound (exaggeration purely for effect to emphasise the listening gulf to either LP12 or whatever Naim/Linn streamer was playing). I remember being similarly non-plussed at a Naim visit earlier this year. Streaming is to me quantity over quality, a bit like going to the downmarket Aldi/Lidl supermarket chains (an event I have only undertaken once and will never ever repeat). Alan Ainslie of Melco was on-hand to offer an explanation, but it went over my head (both figuratively and literally).
Overall the main hall is a fantastic space to listen to the big system and the smaller rooms are more conventional sitting room sized allowing one to listen in a more realistic environment.
Andy and Alastair have much to be proud of in their new premises. I wonder if there is nigh****chman post available?
There was very helpful presence from Naim (Raggett junior was there and helpfully pointed out that he had not even been born when I first met his father, Mark, at a Bristol hi-fi show, when I was already old), Melco, Rega, Russell K and Linn.
(And no Tony, you cannot publish my picture; I really hate seeing myself in a picture. I accept that my passport, driving licence and security pass display it, but those are the only pictures that I knowingly possess.)
'Cathedral of Sound'; love that description J.N.
And in reply to Ghettoyout, there are switched and unswitched sockets in the rooms. The hi-fi equipment uses the unswitched sockets.
congratulations on the new premises, lovely pictures
