New speaker cables for new set-up
Posted by: spacey on 06 May 2017
Hi y'all, Just bought myself a (none BT) SuperUniti to go my existing Proac Studio 118's. ![]()
Thinking of rearranging the room (bored) if I do I'll require new speaker cables. What's the current flava to use between the two manufactures and anyone using VDH-D352 cables?
I would also add Witch Hat N2 speaker cables to your list. I currently have a pair on home dem, and so far too good, an improvement on my NACA4. Chosen over NACA5 as a fairly long run is required, and the cables need to be flexible to run around office obstacles!
May explore the Tellurium Q Black II at some point though, esp if I add new black boxes…

Very good cables indend used them in my last system excellent value for money.
Went to buy a pair of 4m TQBs from a guy locally, he's kindly been running them in for me for a few years. They're in the system and the result is very positive. They are a clear winner on every sense. More delicate and layered yet more weight when needed. There's a sense of clearness, coherence and a bigger sound stage I haven't had with the Studio cables.
Happy system, complete. Been slowly building this over the last 5 months, carefully auditioning and matching every aspect.
So this is it:
Naim SuperUniti
Proac Studio 118s on Pixel Plus stands
QNAP TS251+NAS with 2x1TB SSDs & 8GB ram
CAT6A cables from cablemonkey
RKT mains cable
iPad Mini2
Glad to hear they're working for you. Enjoy.
Super Spacey!

Cheers G,
SO pleased with the result. The TQB is very special IMHO. Well, the whole system is spectacular
Interesting thread. I'm maybe a bit behind the times, Naim used to almost always insist using Nac A5 cable as its characteristics were/are part of the design of its amplifiers. Is this no longer the case? I have always used NacA5 with my Naim except for one time when I tried the old Chord flatline but went back to Naca. Its an appropriate cable in a Naim amp/speaker combo but I've always disliked the pain in the but stiffness of it and often wondered about an alternative. I would need 4x 5m runs so could be expensive.
