Blechacz Plays Bach

I posted a link to this cd on the "Bach for Beginners" thread, but after some thought, and a couple more listens, I thought I should start a separate thread.

This young man was well received for his Chopin preludes, and rightly so IMO. Now as he turns to Bach, I can only say that he is deserving of even higher accolades. He plays as if he has lived with this music for decades. He avoids trying to make his piano sound like a harpsichord. His finger work is impeccable, but he goes much further than mere technical brilliance. He has carefully come to understand the mind of the German master. The closest thing I can compare him to is Richter in the WTC,  the Rachmaninoff preludes and etudes, or Schubert's D960 sonata. One can only wonder what he would do with the Debussy preludes, or Ravel's piano music.
