Audio physic + UnityQute

Posted by: Alberto on 12 May 2017

Hi everyone, this is my first post. The main reason is I'm so, so happy with my new Hi fi system, that I waned to tell it. It took me a lot of years to find good sound quality for just a reasonable expense... Amazing combination Unitiqute 2 and Audio physic Classic 10. I've bought this speakers to upgrade my old B&W p6, and it's absolutely astonishing the openness of the scene. The very good indeed Naim has a lot of synergy  with these loudspeakers... It deserves a special mention the deep and super precise bass. Wiring may have an effect too, (Cardas Quadlink for speakers and Furutech power flux AC cord). My suggestion is to try it!

Without wishing to in any way reduce the happiness you have with your system, be aware that biwire speaker cables, and litz type construction, are not recommended with Naim. You'd be better with a simple single wire speaker cable, such as Naim's A5 or something from Chord or Tellurium.

Yes sure. But cardas is single wire.... thank you so much

According to the Cardas website it has four conductors. Does that not make it a biwire cable?

I'm pretty sure your cables don't have appropriate capacitance and inductance.

You are right, I felt curious and visited the website too, it seems it has changed... my quadlink is maybe a little bit old, and has single conductors and bananas...

I will check your recommendations anyway. Thank you so much

I think there is a biwire version of this cable, but it sounds like you have the standard version. Litz constructed cables are generally ot recommend by Naim, though. It may cause the amplifier in your Unitiqute to run too hot, but if this becomes a problem, it should shut down automatically. Do you have access to a Naim dealer? If so, they should be able to help you with this. Maybe they could lend you some Naim cable to see if you prefer it. In the meantime, enjoy your Unitiqute, it's a lot of fun!

I good friend of mine has a pair of Audio Physics Classic 10 -  he ran them for a while with a 282 / NAP 200 - sounded very good indeed. They are genuinly good speakers.

Few things - speakers are quite revealing and really need NAIM matching speaker cable - my recommendation is to swtitch to NACA5 or Tellurium Q Black.
Mains cable - I'm not too convinced by Furutech cables on the back of NAIMs - they seem to slow the system down too much. Just  use a standard NAIM cable that came in the box.
