Marvellous speakers -- listen to them in an active setup with two 250DR at the Acoustica show earlier this year. In particular the bass was amazing. They filled a rather large room, and I wondered whether 20sqm was a bit on the small side for them to show their full potential.

That will be a fab system

Listened to them at the Bristol Show a truly stunning speaker, in your system I would also look at changing the Hi line to a S/L interconnect did the same in my lesser system and it was a really good upgrade worth a try.

Only listened to them at a show but have some on order to try. They should make an appearance in the next few weeks, I guess. If they work in my room, they will replace my kudos S20s.

I need a bigger poket to upgrade my system like you mention from Hi line to S/L and also a second 555dr/ps to my Nds, but i need to do it step by step, Unless someone with bigger capabilities will contribute to me. but My big concern is the size of the room

I've not heard the 707's, but if they are anything like my Titan's you should be in for a treat.

Now, for 2017, we have something special to reveal once again: a pre-launch preview of the brand new member of the Titan family. The Titan 707 is a smaller, single-box version of the flagship 808 loudspeaker that will be affordable to a wider range of budgets.

Deep down in my gut, I got the feeling you will be ok!

4 x 5,  Kudos 808, I don't know.

Don't be scared, pull the trigger! LOL

Chris great system you have and really thanks for your comment, as i see from your system, how far in terms of sound to have a second 555/ps with your experience on my nds as yours ? I`m thinking for the next step later.

""At  a rather loftier price point (£13,000 in fact), the new Kudos Titan 707 arguably turned in my favourite performance of the whole show. A smaller version of the Titan flagship (although not exactly compact), the 707 uses a number of Kudos design points and unusually, it features the required connectivity to work with the Exakt system from Linn. Although this wasn’t in use at the show, it managed to sound seriously good without it.""

At that price, stupid is an understatement!

LOL......

The second 555ps on the NDS really opens up the sound.  Highly recommended.

I'd also recommend linear power supplies for your UnitiServe, NAS and switch.  Good Chord ethernet cables also make a positive contribution.

Anyone know price of 707 in comparison to S20 and the 808?

You are asking others about what they think of the speakers, so have you actually tried them at home? What did you think of them? Did you actually prefer them to the SL2? You talk about placing an order but not wanting to do anything stupid. If you haven't tried them at home for a couple of weeks, that really would be stupid.

I heard the 707s driven actively at the Chester Show and although they sounded much better than the Focal Speakers also demonstrated at the Show, they were not that that good. While they were well integrated with decent bass the treble was thin in comparison. They were clear but too clinical sounding to my ears.

I' d certainly not even think about buying them without a home demonstration. The only gains that I can see over the SL2s (which I own) are in the bass which is likely to be fuller, but nothing else.

Doesn't even sound like he's auditioned them, and has already made up his mind to purchase just based on others opinions.

He already knows that these are the best sounding speakers he's heard  without even hearing them, let alone in his own room.

This is what really bothers me about forum hype.

Don't be so closed minded, many outstanding sounding speakers in that price range.

Some advice, buy based on what you like, not what the popular vote says!!

Absolutely right.

No i didn`t tried them home, there is no way at the moment to listen to those speakers in my country, the only way is to buy them first,  therfore i can get a good deal, but i agree with you it`s risky, Most of our expensive speakers are not listenable, the only way left is by getting comments from others.

In which case I'd stick with what you've got, and perhaps put a bit of the money you'd spend on the speakers into splitting your Fraim into two stacks. You could also try Super Lumina wires if you want to spend more. The Fraim and the wires will make the existing system better, rather than simply different.

We are back to the old forum discussions. People in the U.K. simply do not realize how lucky they are being able to demo various speakers - both at the dealer and at home.  This is literally IMPOSSIBLE here in the States.

I flew over to the U.K. to demo the original Titans at Cymbiosis and ended up purchasing a pair for myself and facilitating a purchase for Varyat.  So yes - while I did demo (primarily against Neat XL10) - it was only one day in the confines of my dealers shop.  I know that Chris Bell was also in a similar predicament.

As to the original posters question - Titans work extremely well in a small room.  Mine are in a room 16' x 12' (18 sq meters?) with no problem at all.

I understand that you really like the titans, but did you ever had in the past any Naim speakers and if so,what is your impression between the naim speakers comparing to your titans? It's a tricky question but maybe your opinion is my dilemma....

Posted on: 13 May 2017 by glevethan

I have had Naim N-Sats and Allaes.  Both were wonderful speakers.  The entire Ovator range left me very cold - they were a very polarizing release by Naim.

The reason I pursued Titan's was that I was looking for an upgrade to my Allae's - the Ovator's were supposed to be that however they were not.

Many Naim users seem to like the entire Kudos range - the 707's should not disappoint (although I have not heard them) since I am sure they maintain the Kudos family sound.  Another point to know is that Derek from Kudos uses Naim gear during the development and voicing stages of speaker design.

Posted on: 13 May 2017 by varyat

Gregg's views are the same as mine- Kudos are a perfect match for Naim amps.

I was in the same predicament a while back- searching for a new pair of speakers to replace a pair of Dynaaudio floor standers.. I auditioned the Ovator 600 when it was released and was not impressed. I have owned SBL's and still own a n-Sat/n-Sub system which I really enjoy. I took leap of faith on Gregg's enthusiastic recommendations as we share similar "ears" when it comes to audio gear. I was not disappointed  .

Meni- perhaps ask the advise of your dealer who is supplying the 707's? A good dealer will be able to answer some of your questions....As far as room integration, the Kudos are very room friendly and don't seem to cause the same bass issues people have with other ported designed speakers. Good luck!

ATB,

Mark
