Uniti Atom ........ again, anyone has any information..?
Posted by: Peder on 17 May 2017
Atom, end of May,have maybe anyone heard anything about when they shall leave Salisbury.
I give my son the Uniti Atom for Christmas,he start to feel a little angry right now.Wonder where it is, as I also do .
My UK dealer rang me at the beginning of last week and told me that they are now expecting to receive the first units in June, which part of June he wasn't sure.
I gave my son some pyjamas and a couple of books for Christmas. He's perfectly happy with that.
Different strokes for different folks, but as gifting goes I'd rather be Peder's son .

Oh,shit.....the story about the Atom never stops. If my son is lucky he can have the Atom next Christmas.
Thank's for the information .
JUNE!!!.......This was ridiculous....It's now beyond a Joke.....!
And still nothing from NAIM.
Communication is key....I feel a bit cringy for them....not good enough on so many levels, and it seems they don't care.
I'm sure they do care. It's very obvious that they have faced unexpected technical difficulties in getting the boxes ready for sale, otherwise they wouldn't have launched them so far ahead of them actually being available.
In my opinion they'd be far better reverting to the previous practice of just launching things when they are ready, rather than having a big fanfare with silly taster videos and then catching a cold when things don't go quite to plan.

I am not sure, it very much depends on the pyjamas and, of course, on the books!
Agree with all your points.....
But better to be transparent and communicate with your customers, even if the news is nothing....folk are fickle sorts, especially the impatient types.... (Me) and brand loyalty can slowly fade.
They did start a thread here, that they said they would update weekly.....that stopped two months ago!?
I know. It's rubbish. They don't seem to put communication as their top priority. You remind them, they do it for a few weeks, then they forget. You'd think diaries and to do lists didn't exist.
They've been taking lessons in communication from Meridian

At the moment, the guy who received the PJ's and book is on to a winner...At least he got a gift
In all honesty, that's what I am thinking right now:
1. I prefer to be late but refined. That launch was a disaster
2. They have no excuse on how bad their launch and testing protocol is...that's bad planning of the highest order. I know what I am talking about as I manage programmes for a living...there is late and there is screw up...
3. Naim coms is very very poor and again, no excuse. They will pay for it in customer experience and perception. This is a good example of consequence. A good comm could have offset some of the damage from 2
4. I am not sure I want the atom anymore and naim better find a clever way at launch to make us forget this blunder...naim marketing and pricing department, please take notice
this post could appear hard but it is really factual. The brand is surfing on previous goodwill and a fanbase (me included). However, there are limits and they are very very close
so please naim, get your act together and remember that a brand is nothing without customers. Treat them well and everything will fall in place. Cheers

Did he specify a year?
I have an appointment to listen to the new Unitis on 23rd June, my dealer's promised to ring if he gets told the demo units will slip. I might ring him today just to check. I want a second system for the upstairs lounge to have good sound while having the better views over the valley, and a Nova (or Atom) would fit nicely with the NDX and the Qbs. But like everyone else, the wait is draining enthusiasm, although I still have the day off work, a 10am start, and a List of speakers to try with the Unitis.
Dear All
Apologies for any lack of information, not good enough and I will try to ensure we post more frequently as you deserve.
I would like to update you on our progress with the new Uniti players and shipping dates for Uniti Atom. I am very pleased to say that the final areas of the project are coming together well. Hardware work is now complete, the units are sounding fantastic and we are filling shelves here at Naim HQ with Uniti Atoms ready for programming. We are in the process of final software testing and our certifications work is nearly complete.
This extensive work has involved the biggest beta test that Naim has ever undertaken, with beta units distributed in all our key markets to ensure that we have the most comprehensive feedback possible on every aspect of the user experience. You may have seen some of the fantastic press coverage and reviews we have already received for the new range, this week we are showcasing at the Munich High-End Show. Maybe see some of you here?
We are on track to start shipping Uniti Atom will end of May pending final certifications from Google, with the majority of orders leaving the factory in June, so we are close.
Thank you for your patience and understanding - we are nearly there and are looking forward to shipping your Uniti Atoms built to the high standard you expect from Naim.
Again, sorry for lack of updates
Kindest regards
Ryan

No seen plenty of press coverage but no reviews for anything other than the Core. Care to share some links of the reviews as I can't find any.
Thanks
Sam
Well, Naim do say on their web site that the Atom offers infinite possibilities so I can see that beta testing could take quite a while.
Roger
There is something like watching a car crash in slow motion about all of this but once the units are released I'm sure all will be forgiven.
These units have the capacity to become the new Nait 2s.

I have not seen any reviews of the core, considering it's been out for a few months, any links to actual hands on reviews would be appreciated.
Ok, we are now in July soon...
anyone has some good news to share as I am starting to loose patience
