Is anyone else haveing problem with BBC Channels dropping consistently through day every 15 - 20 minutes ?
Really fed up with this now !
[@mention:1566878603913713] I'm not sure if Oxford is near enough but if it is, I'm happy to help if I can.
What I did notice last time was packet loss on C&W Slough routers just before Akamai. I'll certainly look for that again if I notice R3 dropouts. However nothing to report today, all fine here.

Naim advice from their own website in Mu-So support under Internet radio drop outs topic is now this
Where the heck did this come from boys?

Hi RR,
I see you raised this on another thread too to which I have replied.

thanks Phil
Not been around at home so much but Friday lunchtime there was multiple dropouts and today (Sunday) all through the day it was doing the same until I gave up and listened to iRadio off the computer.
Steve
Not good yesterday, tried reapplying the preset but ended up listening via the iPlayer on the ipad
hi [@mention:49295589516311195] - are you close to salisbury?
both ourselves and the BBC are struggling to replicate - a actual system that fails that we can trace would help us get inside the scenario better
if anyone else whom is having the issue is close by that would help - if youre able to assist please contact naim technical support or phil harris

sorry no, I live in Shropshire.

Trevor, I use to experience frequent dropouts on BBC HD stations mainly listening to Radio 2 HD it was so bad I ended up listening on my separate tuner.
After picking up on this thread a couple of weeks ago I've since started to listen again using my NDX and over the last couple of weeks have yet to suffer any dropouts I am located close to Bath.
Could it be the router MTU setting needs adjusting?
I dont want to submit a 'red herring' but I recall the optimal MTU setting of around 1468 & often seen routers where its set higher at 1500 I dont have a Mu-so so cant test this but perhaps some one whos happy to tweak their router MTU might like to try & post back?
Theres plenty of info on how to use switches with the ping command to discover the best setting that will provide unfragmented packets if you search.
Mods, if you thing this is a red herring & of no use then please delete the post.

all inficatations from the symptoms reported would indicate something linked to the HLS systems, but at present neither Naim nor the BBC can prove/dis-prove this. weve had multiple units running with full debug on to try and catch the event without sucess,
anyone who is sufferng this near salisbury and open to helping us catch this in the act?
Trevor
Trevor,
I am in rural Warwickshire I'm afraid. Glad there seems to be a concerted effort to sort this/replicate this. I have been posting for many months about my Mu-So Radio streaming problem on BBC channels. Won't go over much of the advice back, most very helpfull btw (revolved around several router/hardwiring/devolo is rubbish responses).
Do you need router ip information when this stuff happens or Mu-So ip btw?
Best of luck and I will watch with interest as I love the sound of the Mu-So but the repeated buffering on BBC Radio 2 spoils my weekend listening.
Kind Regards

hi [@mention:1566878603979021]
what we know so far is that a) its intermittent b) seems localised to the BBC services in the UK c) has been reported on other manufacturer devices d) doesn't appear linked directly to a bandwidth issue e) doesn't appear linked to a geographical area in the UK f) doesn't appear linked to a ISP
this means that without a pattern to hit, we need to go back to basics and catch it fully in the act with detailed debug on a unit in question - as we haven't yet been able to replicate in the office (or at home) then id like to see if there is a user that suffers this whereby we can take a trace directly on the unit and catch it. hence the request
still intending to get to root cause as i know the BBC are also intrigued

yes I get the problem and happy to do a trace - but be warned it is intermittent so can go days before it happens, then have a day where it gets that bad it is unlistenable, so need some way to turn the trace on or off or they could be massive
Steve
Hi,
After resetting my presets a while ago I haven't had any issues but Radio 4 HLS is again very flaky this morning. It's dropping out every 5-10 minutes.

Hi Trevor,
Update on Mu-So and BBC Radio 2 HD. Plugged the Mu-So back in last week after turning it off in frustration a couple of months ago due to drop outs etc.
Operates generally ok wirelessly - streaming from NAS, Tidal, Radio Paradise, Classic FM and Jazz FM. However BBC Radio 2 HD continues to be very variable in performance. Constantly requiring manual reconnection on the Mu-So. Wednesdays and weekends are the worst. Will now try Radio 3 HD for a period to test
As before my Roberts iStream Radio and Linn DS have no such problems with BBC Radio 2 HD.
BBC Radio and Naim Mu-So are not good bed partners in my house. Yes I have reset the app several times and cleared the radio presets and reconfigured etc etc.
Struggling for explanation .
Kind Regards
RR
our friends in the BBC are still struggling as are we to replicate. we use the HLS feeds from the BBC, i confess to not knowing directly what Linn and Roberts natively support - do you have knowledge on this?

Hi Trevor,
Sorry no idea on this. Radio 2 HD buffering every ten minutes as I type this. Stopped my wife throwing it(Mu-So) out of the window twice already today.

Hi Trevor,
Solved my Mu-So BBC Radio buffering problem. Plugged an Amazon Echo dot into the the line input of the Mu-So. Wi-fi connected, voice activated control. No buffering truly marvellous, will post on another thread.
