The change from  272 to NDS is a no brainer as I have the 555 psu....

Going to take a look at Vitus amp today, had dealer demo of Chord DAVE, looking at other options currently, having a little bit of a NAIM wobble at the moment :-( 

Nice - be interested in your thoughts on the Vitus. 

Got a Vitus for home demo, tried the amp at dealers with Tidal speakers, like the DAVE Dac very revealing, mids to highs very open, bit warmer. Home demo will be the key. Hopefully 272/250DR combo works better but good to try other options.

I can't possibly see how that is a 'no brainier'. The NDS does not have an integrated preamp, so an NDS needs to connect into a different system topology i.e. one with an added NAC .. and as many agree the heart of a given system is its NAC. The 555PS is kind of incidental in this.

Yes first time visit and a great and knowledgeable person to chat to, some very exotic kit to boot.

Have you seen the second-hand NDS at Cymbiosis? Just in case you have a few £££ left in the piggy bank after your recent 552 purchase.

Good luck but make sure you make your own decision. I spoke to possibly the same dealer about a used Naim product and he did a very good job of pushing Vitus and rubbishing Naim. It took me a few days to get the conversation out of my head. He might be right of course but as I said you need to decide yourself and not go on what a very good salesman tells you.
