UnitiServe power supply

Is it ok to use the IEC power cord (with the small "filter" box)  that goes into the standard UnitiServe "wall wart" power supply with the Israeli UnitiServe power supply?

When I had a US I used its mains lead into the power supply you are referring to. Out of interest, are you already backing up onto a nas? If you are, try playing direct from the nas - you may find it better than the US, and then you wouldn't need the power supply. That's wahat I found, anyway.

Thanks Nigel. I'm backing up onto a separate hard drive rather than a NAS so will stick with the US which I have found to be excellent. I'll also try this power supply to see what that does. I'm not expecting anything dramatic but some say it is a worthwhile upgrade. Let's see.

Kind regards

We aren't allowed to discuss modifications and I'm not sure whether this question counts as such. But anyway in regard to the US power lead, the filter is principally to shop hash from the US power supply getting onto the mains, not the other way round, although it probably does also do that too. I doubt that there is any advantage, or any disadvantage come to that, from using that lead with a linear supply.

The Israeli supply isn't actually linear. It's an SMPS with posh filters.

The box just contains a ferrite ring, so it should work fine.

Thanks all. Much appreciated. I won't post here how I find the PS - conscious of Forum rules regarding such things.
