RIP Gregg Allman

Just seen the sad news. Reunited with brother Duane.
RIP Gregg.
Very sad indeed. Rip Gregg.
Very sad. I was grooving along to the Allmans in the car today as usual. Walk in peace.
Hardly unexpected, but very sad nonetheless. He wrote some great songs.
Rip Gregg. I was fortunate to see the Allman brothers at Knebworth in 1974, awesome.
This is a major music figure passing in my book - for me the ABB is easily a top 10 band of all time. A true force in the live setting.
Now only Jaimo and Dickey remain from the original band.
RIP brother Gregg.
RIP Greg, very sad.
Can say with veracity this song changed my life after my mom died. Back to work the next Monday and having to march on...this song came on the radio and made it all clear to me. It was at that time the music started talking directly to me...so I started really hearing it. After that I began my trek back into vinyl and I heard more and more voices from the past telling me the secrets about how to make it through.
Wanted to also say that immediately after listening to this song, I knew that I needed to investigate Jazz...a form of music I'd hated all my life until hearing this song...the drums got me. Have a good Jazz collection now on Vinyl...and I still get pool of cold sweats on the top of my head when I listen after a rough day.
Allman Brothers - Dreams

Snaic - check out the version of Dreams from the last Beacon Theater concert of 29 Oct 2014 - outstanding rendition. The whole concert was a completely fitting end to the ABB saga, even without Betts in attendance. Gregg was in fine voice too.
Will check it out!
This is a good instrumental performance, because the vocal channel was apparently missing for 3/4th of the song...guitar is right there.

The Allman Brothers have been a big part of my life. One of the first bands I saw live in high school. I flew coach to LA one time and Gregg Allman was in the seat behind me smoking. Back in the day! He was a humble man, even as a rock god, and we had a brief visit. I even visited sister Annie's guitar shop in Savannah. Listening to Live at Fillmore East as I type this.
If we could all sing like we wanted to, we would all sound like Gregg Allman.
Six marriages. Five children, each by a different Mom. Two livers. His last wife was 40 years younger than he was. The Rock Star Paradigm! Energetic! RIP.
Queen of Hearts is my all time fave from album Laid Back.
Ultimate late nite chill grooves.
Whipping Post is a classic. I usually don't care much for aging boomer's rock, but when I first listen to this in a car, I had to find out who this was.
At Fillmore East, 1971 is one of the best live album. Rivaling Little Feat's Waiting for Columbus.
Just seen the sad news, RIP Gregg and thank you for the music.
Another sad loss, as Stevee said above, thanks for the music.
