iPad connectivity to Uniti

Using an Ipad2 to access sample music from the iTunes store. Can I play this music back through my Uniti ? - perhaps with an N-link cable maybe ?
Yes, works just like an iPod.
Excellent - thanks
Can I ask another question. Last night I tried using the supplied iPad cable to connect to the front USB port with no success. Should I expect it to work?
On the subject of the N-Link cable is there a cheaper alternative?. Ideally I'd like a 2m cable to go to the iPod connector at the back or the front USB
IIRC, the N-Link cable is an analog connection and uses the DAC of the connected iPod...ugh. Naim doesn't even use that on the Uniti anymore, and never has on the UnitiQute.
If your Uniti has the N-Link connector, then it is an older one, and I wonder whether it needs an upgrade/firmware to support digital connections from iPod/iPad devices. You might need to check with your dealer on this one.
Interesting. So how/where is iPod/iPad meant to connect ?. There is an Ipod input on the back top right. I only brought the unit 6 months ago but it was ex-dem

On my UnitiQute I connect the iPod to the USB input on the front.
Have been in touch with Naim and it appears that my model needs the return to base upgrade to be able to connect iPad into the USB front socket - about £230. Annoyed since purchased only 6 months ago ex-dem. I will contact dealer but I'm not going to pay that
I don't really want to spend a fortune since I have all my music stored in Flac on the NAS drive. Its simply when browsing music in the iTunes store on the iPad, though it would be nice to play it back through the Uniti
One other question. Could you not connect iPad though the front headphone socket to get audio output?

Headphone socket is an output, not an input. In any case, the point of the USB connection is to get digital out from the iPod so you are using the Uniti DAC, rather than the iPod DAC. Have you tried the digital input on the front of the Uniti (right next to headphone out)? Will that accept an iPod?
Sorry - That's exactly what I meant. The input socket on the front panel next to the headphones !
I will give that a try - haven't got right cable at present.
If one has an iOS device (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch), and AppleTV 2 would be a better option than an Airport Express.
