Paragraphs on this website

Is it just how Safari is displaying threads? Or this highly amusing hoop-la, or have people with some semblance of what they are doing all gone, to be left with people who don't know how to hit return occasionally?

Seems OK here.

Yup, all working....

Slightly off-topic:

There seems to have been a forum software update during the day (Aug 22nd), and now the time zone/hours is presented one hour off for me (I'm in CET-timezone).

I used to be able to set my timezone for my forum account, where is that setting?

I can't seem to find it.

Yes the time seems to be off. Apparently it's tomorrow already. Or 0:06 in hopeless time.

I also can't find time zone setting info on my profile.

The time's ok here, when I'm logged in at least, though I can't find the settings either. A 'Calendar' function has showed up though, complete with a list of birthdays.

As for the (lack of) paragraphs, I noticed when I tried using the app that my paragraph breaks had disappeared when I looked at my post on the app and in Firefox.

It's amazing there is room for a f'ing useless, but intrusive, Calendar entry in the top bar when we were told there was no room in the top bar for a link to the Padded Cell.

And it shows how much a lot of the community trusts Hope.Less with their data, Jan 1st seems to be 10x more popular for a birthday than average.

I think I am well over a century old on my data!

John, you are quite right. Nothing that hoop.la does seems to instill confidence ...

Chaps, Naim are going to have to dump Hoop.la at some point, what with it simply not working, so I wouldn't sweat it.

Anyways, gotta go. It's Tog's birthday tomorrow, so I better nip out and get him something.

hego/BigH, From looking at Hoop.la's site, seems like it'll fix the time zone if you log out and in, if you haven't already:

Time Zone Changes

We've changed the way we handle time zones for users.  There is a new setting for admins in the control panel that sets a default time zone for the site.  You'll find this new setting in your Admin Control Panel > Settings > Display Options.

Any guest visiting your site, or member who is not signed in, well see all times based on  the default time zone you set here.  Once a member signs in though, we automatically set time zone based on where the user is based on when he/she last signed in.  Thus, if the community sets a time zone of Pacific Standard Time, but I sign in from New York City, all times will automatically be adjusted to reflect my Eastern time zone.  If I travel to Chicago the next day and sign in from there, my time zones will then be adjusted to reflect Central Standard Time.  Note that the sign in triggers the time zone recalibrtion.  Thus, if you have "remember me" turned on (stay signed in across sessions), your time zone will not be recalibrated until you actually sign out and sign back in again.

Richard, Please can the default time zone be Salisbury time, as it always was pre-Hoop.la? Tks

GMT/BST would do; apparently Worcester is regarded in time terms as somthing like the Continent of Europe! Only Portugal is actually on British time in Europe .... unless I am very much mistaken.

Thanks to ChiefChirpa for the heads-up re: the auto-time-zone at logon.

I use auto-logon, so after logging out, then in, times now looks fine.

At the 3rd stroke it will be?

The correct time! Wonders will never.

Thanks CC log out/in worked.

Apart from some more bug fixes, one of the changes made yesterday was to automatically set the time to where you are.

Well done to the Admin team for dumping the Calendar. It was as popular as a turd in a swimming pool.

Seeing how it managed to fit in the top menu, and now that it is gone, can we please have Padded Cell up in the top menu now?

Thanks

I thought it was a Mars Bar. I ate it.

If you want to freak someone out, then use a Lion bar, and a tiny bit of hot water poured over gives a nice gloss...
