I'm using asset upnp installed on a win7 pc, it works very well with my naim uniti. The best feature of asset upnp is the speed: when I add a new album on the library, I immediately see it on the 'new albums' playlist.
Now I'm planning to buy a macbook pro and to install asset upnp on it with crossover mac. Do you think that it will be fast like in may windows setup? Or crossover mac introduces a sort of slowing down?

B, there must be someone around here who has tried this but have you asked on the Asset/dbpoweramp.com forum? Would like to know about it myself as I might get a Mac next year and have just started to use Asset and am really liking the way it works. Thanks!

@Balma01
I have used Asset with Crossover Mac and it seems OK - you can try it with the trial version first to test it out. I'm not certain if there is much of a processing overhead but it seemed fast enough.
In the end it just seemed a bit clumsy - if you are going down the UPnP route it might be better to either use a small PC or netbook or invest in an AssetNas/RipNas.
My Vortexbox server shows newly ripped albums immediately - Bliss ensured the directory tree is organised exactly how I want it and I occasionally rescan (2 min job) to make sure all the cover art is correct.
