Chord Signature TA DIN/XLR Between NAP 250DR and HCDR

Two members tried the Chord STA DIN/XLR on the thread below but it was locked.

Alan found an improvement with the STA used between the 250DR and Supercap DR while RobT thought the STA killed the sound when used with the XPS DR and 300DR.

A question to Alan. You mentioned the hiss with the tweeter was eliminated with the Chord and it sounded a lot quieter. My experience with the STA was the same but it is a RCA to DIN that connects the DAC to the NAC 282. I am now considering this Chord STA DIN/XLR to go between the 250DR and HCDR. Would appreciate if you can advise on the improvements the Chord had brought to the system in comparison to the stock Naim cable. Does music sound more open and dynamic with the STA, or the sound got smoother and laidback?

I would appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

for myself i am using signature tuned array between nap 300dr and my ear 912 preamp, and also sig tuned array phono between turntable and phono of my preamp, and sig tuned array din-rca between nds and my preamp : the sound is very natural and free flowing, bold and articulate, with very good prat. The hiline is more forward and clinical...but i have not tested the superlumina....

I compared stock Naim XLRs against Super Lumina and Chord SA in the context of a Chord loom.

I went for the Chord: it was cheaper and way better. Audition required though.

Thanks for the link. That's some serious discussion with 17 pages on the thread. I noticed most were comparing higher level Super Lumina and Sarum cables. The use of STA is rather confusing though as I am not sure if it's referring to Signature Tuned Aray, Super Tuned Aray or Sarum Tuned Aray.

I appreciate the comments such as natural and free flowing, bold and articulate with good PRaT. These are the qualities I am looking for in my system. I don't want warm, smooth or laidback. I presume you compared the Signature Tuned Aray DIN/XLR to the stock Naim DIN/XLR cable before you came up with your conclusions above.

Naim Superlumina (or Chord Sarum) is likely better but it's out of my price range.

i compared din/xlr hiline with din/xlr signature tuned array on nds/252 at my dealer place. But i use din/rca, my preamp is non naim....( ear yoshino 912).   From nap 300 to ear 912 the chord sig tun array is modified, as is the phono sig tun array ( with SME plug).

It's rather confusing, I stole this from an earlier thread:

Hi Ryder - I have a DIN/XLR STA from my SCDC to 250DR. I would say it is more open, detailed and dynamic than the standard IC. I was (and remain) very happy with it.

Hi Alan, thanks for the post. That is exactly what I want to hear. The Chord Signature Tuned Aray DIN/XLR will be the final piece of wire that completes my system. I already have the Chord Signature Tuned Aray RCA/DIN between the Chord QBD76 and NAC 282 and look forward to the improvements that you have mentioned.
