Hi Matthew. Your dealer will be able to get you replacement fuses, or google naim replacement fuses and a number of dealers that can help will come up.

You need the exact replacement 'slow blow' fuse. Some XPS's have a reputation for blowing them, so probably best to keep a few spares.

I had the same problem earlier is year my dealer gave me a couple of spares.

Mat, the fuse must be the exact same make, size and rating.  Anything else will either blow immediately or be unsafe.  Your Naim dealer should be able to supply - get a few just in case.

Not sure where you're located, but if in the US, you can get them from Digikey. You want the fuses made by Littelfuse. 5x20 mm in glass. Series 218. I'd provide a link , but it's not allowed. I use them and they work well. My information comes from here:

Thanks guys found naim dealer that can supply them via post and the fitting FAQ never considered them being directional buy hey should of known better in our world of audiophile

So ac current (what you get from your mains) is bi-directional. If a fuse were directional, it would rectify somehow, and the voltage would build up on one side or the other eventually blowing the fuse. They're not directional, put them in however you like. I mean, it doesn't hurt to put them in right side up, but it doesn't matter if you put them in upside down.

Than we have different experience about this,High Fidelity the biggest Linn-dealer in Sweden ..... always put the fuse in right direction before delivering new equipment.

The differens is not big, but's no problem too hear if you have everything right in your musicsystem.

Indeed Naim have found an optimum direction for their fuses although they admit they don't know why, but they have observed it.
