Uniti Core

Posted by: fotobrooks on 21 June 2017

On my second Core, and it seems to be working as expected. Has anyone come across the front standby light and cd light flashing on and off constantly. Came home from work last night and this is what the Core was doing. Only way to stop it was to turn off and on. Seems to be OK again now. Any suggestions to cause this?

My first Core had problems, took it back to the dealer who checked it as well. He agreed something not right and Naim replaced without any questions. Good luck with your Atom.

I'm waiting for my Atom to arrive, I might ask my dealer what he will give me for it.

I can't be bothered trying to explain to Naim why it doesn't work, they'll insist it does blah blah blah

Why not just get it exchanged for one that does work?

I don't think you will have to worry for some months yet. Have you already paid?

Yes, the sound quality is better or at least different vs the Unitiserve.

Although I've not used it since February as it doesn't work properly and I won't rip any new CDs with it as I'm sticking to the far superior Unitiserve.

Perhaps foterbrook is right, you can replace it buy a new one, the guarantee should work. Maybe a lot of problems in ripping and editing were not only a question of software updates but also the hardware on the first cores was different....?   naim say that the hardware had not changed, but commercially speaking naim audio has no interest to reveal that.....

Naim have stated the hardware is identical, do you have evident to prove otherwise?

It's a lovely thought but I fear you look back through rose tinted glasses - no matter how much you try to ensure things are As good as possible there are always components that fail before they should or things that go wrong. All you can do is ensure you provide the best after sales service, try to learn lessons where you can, and always strive to improve.
