System location

Hi
if one has space to play with, what's the best positioning of the system:
Between the speakers (higher vibrations yet short signal path)
Far from speakers like +5m (far fewer vibrations yet long distance for signal)
Some of us have that luxury, but I was wondering what you'd class as optimal.
Cheers
If it's a Naim system that 5m is an advantage.
Apparently, not between the speakers.
Equally, best to avoid placing the turntable in a room corner (if you have one), as this is where the pressure from bass sound waves is greatest, so theoretically upsets the TT the most. Due to to the practicalities of fitting the stuff into our living room, I have ignored this recommendation.
This leaves the middle of the room, which may be sub-optimal from an aesthetic and practical perspective. Alternatively, mid way along a side wall. Finally, in another room altogether, which really gets the electronics away from the sound vibration, though the remote may not control...
Hope this helps, FT
To the side as far away from speakers as possible, avoiding corners as noted by FT. Nothing between the speakers. JV suggested that any edges of furniture between the speakers acted as points for refraction and diffraction interfering with SQ. Sadly I have to break all of thes rules...

There was a full review of Naims Statement system recently where the reviewer split them so the powers were situated near the speakers and the pre some distance at the side, making good use of those XLRs.

I know that's received wisdom, however...
At the corners the sound pressure is greatest, but the air velocity is at a minimum.
Conversely in the middle the air velocity is greatest, but the sound pressure is at a minimum.
The middle of a wall is a compromise between these two.
So it depends on whether the TT and cartridge in use are affected more by pressure or by movement, and that may well be dependent on their design.
No turntable is mentioned but nsystem surround is, so halfway along a side wall is the obvious answer if practical but the same goes with only 2 channel.
Are there nsubs involved as well as sats and an ncent?
