Garden Planning Software

Posted by: The Strat (Fender) on 25 June 2017

Chaps,

I'm fortunate enough to be able to retire from work Dec this year and have promised Mrs S a re-vamp of the Garden.

Can guys recommend a software planning tool, easy to use and Mac configured.

Regards,

Lindsay

How much planning do you want it to do?  How big is the garden?

I would have thought that a pencil and paper would do to sketch out the outline, then draw in the type of plants, with a list of the plants you will need.

For different surface textures eg rocks,, pebbles, sand, top soil, membrane jjust measure it up and get at the builders merchants and garden centre.

or

Go to a Landscape Gardening company if you are ready to really spend and want an instant result.

Derek,

its a small garden 50' wide 30' deep so don't really need the professionals!

I've done several paper sketches but would like to see what it might look like on screen.

Lindsay

Just done a Google - have a look at one from Saga there are several listed, I would have a look at the Gardena planner, however there appears to be several.

The secret is to have pinch points so you never see the whole space without walking around the garden.

Best to get your eye out of the screen and into the green. Put your speakers out in the garden and measure where your garden nodes are. Then plant some nice non reflective lavatera's.
