Core metadata from downloads

Having read the FAQ, it looks as though editing metadata in the downloads folder via the app is a non starter. I understand that. However, is it possible to edit the metadata on my laptop (Mac OS) on the Core? Will this mess up the Core's OS when dealing with the data? For example, I'd like to add a piece of cover art to an album that I've moved onto the core (a DSD file). It shows up on the app with a blank folder as the cover art. Can I change this?

You can edit metadata on downloads either before or after copying them to the Core downloads folder. It's just that either way, you need to find the files on your computer and do it there, as it can't be done with the Naim app.
