ND5 XS remote issue

Just a quickie I hope.  Borrowed a ND5 XS streamer from my dealer today to borrow over weekend and the IR remote not working.  Unit itself fine and can be worked from iOS app and the unit panel keys.

Checking system status I can see remote RC5 code set at 21, but the IR Rex silence is set to yes.  I suspect this is root cause, anyone know how to toggle on and off please??  Or any other ideas.  Btw yes tried obvious and tested the batteries and remote looks like the standard streamer remote.

maybe it's worth it to try; reset the unit and then check if it's working.

pressing aux, i and 5 should reconnect to the unit.  Ive had similar issues.  My ND5XS remote works perfectly now and controls the volume on the amp etc.  My Remote for the NDS, however, is playing silly buggers. At first it controlled the volume on the pre and nothing else.  then it controled the NDS and nothing else and now its dead ha!  I gave up and went on holiday.  Good luck

I believe you have to press these three buttons during the time the splash screen is showing as the streamer starts up. Pressing them at other times won't work because you need it to be starting up for the pairing to take place.

There were some instructions published on the forum a couple of years ago but they are hard to find. If you need them, let me know and I'll dig out my hard copy which will let me remember exactly what the title of the stream was at the time.

IR Sys mode = 21:  aux+i+disp @ startup (default)
IR Sys mode = 13:  aux+i+5 @ startup

Thanks for help all.  I did try the key press combination but to no avail.  It appears I got a faulty remote according to Naim/ dealer.  New one being sent out, so let's see....

Just got new remote from Naim via dealer.  Faulty remote after all that!!  Should close post now!!
