Qute v1 24/192 & Display still available
Posted by: Brubacca on 08 July 2017
I have an original Qute 24/96. The display is almost unreadable. Are these displays still available? Also is the 24/192 upgrade still available? I'm in the USA.

I don't know about the display personally (although I expect it is), but the 24/192 upgrade board for the UQv1 is still available (via Plurison in Canada; look for posts by Manu). It turns out to be a very significant fraction of the trade-in value of the unit here, so on the border of "expensive upgrade to existing box" versus "taking the next generation step". I was kinda hoping for a deeply discounted clearance at "end of product life" as the new Atom is poised to arrive, but on reflection realize that it is still likely a spare part for many units and Naim seem to maintain things for a long time...

The green display panels are known to have a very short lifespan, especially if left on all the time, so I imagine Naim will have a substantial stockpile of them. I very much doubt you'll have any trouble getting a service.
I thought that the issue with the panels was just the early ones. Is it still an issue with current panels?

I'm not sure, but if the OP has a 24/96 version, I'm guessing it's an early model.
I am the OP and it is a 24/96. My question is if I fix the display will it be a recurring problem?
My 272 is two years old and the display is still perfect. I have it set to be on for about ten seconds when I change something, after which it turns off. So it's off for nearly all of the time.

I have had the qute v1 less than 3 years. I purchased as a dealer demo. I didn't know about the display for the first year and a half and I leff it on.
