Football Season 2017/18
Posted by: Kevin-W on 11 July 2017
As requested by Steve (Paper Plane) on the 16/17 thread, here's a new one for 2017/18. All leagues/divisions welcome.
Come on you Irons!
I hate F******* football!!
I hope Big Sam gets the job mainly because I miss Kevin-W's Hippo Head rants.

Apparently the Bongos and that Tory witch offered the job to Hippo Head, but he wanted too much money - £8m, I'm told (BFS eats a lot of packets of Monster Munch, and they're not cheap these days).
The Dildos are way too tight-fisted to shell out that kind of dosh, so looks like the only option was an unemployed and discredited manager who is as desperate as we are. Welcome, Mr Moyes...
They also asked Wagner, Silva, Pellegrini and Macini, but they all turned the terrible trio down; and who can blame them?
Pardew is still out of work, Kevin. Surely a better bet than Moyes?

I agree. Certainly a better bet as an interim.
As far i can make out the reason for leaving the Boleyn (upton park) and moving to the Olympic stadium (london stadium) was to take West Hambto the next leavel, feels more like we're going backwards, as much as think that slaven had come to the end of the road, how is employing David Moyes taking West Ham to the next leavel....almost wish Terry Brown was back, sad day indeed ☹☹☹
It's looking like Moyes is going to be appointed some time Tuesday can't see this being anything but a mediocre move judging on his last 2 clubs. What a mess !
Moyes it is then. The spin the Dildos and Lady Muck have put on things is hilarious!
Eeek! Hope it works out Kev.
My commiserations to all WHU fans. I suspect the Moyes brand of football won't appeal and season's struggle got harder today.
It's a baffling appointment considering how toxic he is having taken Sunderalnd down last season.
As ever, The Daily Mash nails it:
What really gets me in all this management stuff its always the same old faces year after year.
There must be some really great managers out there but it always has to be the tried and tested even if at best being pretty mediocre...but thats enough...argh !
Also where is failure rewarded with another payoff if you do get sacked...say 6 months in on a 3 year deal !
Good luck Northern Ireland!

Yes, Chris. It would be lovely to see them qualify. Even though the Swiss looked the better side NI had couple of important decisions go against them in the first leg so they deserve a bit of luck in the second.
Bah! Moyes out!

I know you are taking the p.... You possibly know I'm not a Marxist. But you have to give the working man, in this case Moyes, the tools to do the job with.
This is certainly the perspective I have of Pellegrino's Saints.
The Hammers' game this coming Friday against the Foxes will be a big one. Win and Moyes will have bought a bit of time. Lose and I can see the unrest with the owners increasing significantly.

I'm sure Kevin would disagree.
There are plenty of tools at West Ham.
Kev this will make you smile if you did'nt hear it but a West Ham caller to Talk Sport on the Sunday night phone in wanted Mark Noble as manager and Ray Winston as his assistant !
He said you can't get any passion out of the players and the presenter suggested Guardiola leaving City for West Ham as he could at least inject something into them he replied no way he's not from around these parts. !!
The KDB goal against Leicester was awesome - just sums up City - just so fast on the break sprinting up the pitch,Leroy Sane passing it back for KDB - what vision.
Hope West Ham put the Foxes to bed Friday but it's going to be a be a tough game
A fine display from the Arsenal to beat Spurs and no the first goal wasn't a foul on Sanchez but firstly it didn't change anything we would have beaten them anyway and secondly it made up for the off side goal against Man City which with us just scoring and pressurising Man City did change the course of that game. What a revelation from Ozil I hope that, that man of the match award and the love shown by the fans can help convince him to stay.
Bob
I watched the Arsenal -Spurs game and really enjoyed it.Thought Arsenal looked good and was surprised how average Spurs where.Must have made your day that result.
Will be watching Brighton - Stoke tonight will be a massive result for Brighton if they win for their staying up points tally which is very respectable and team confidence.
