Qnap disc advice

I have a Qnap NAS with 2*3TB discs, set up as mirrored. I would like to reconfigure them so that they are not mirrored. Anyone know if this can be done?

Doesn't look like you can, at least not without wiping data and starting over.

if space is the issue, you could stay mirrored and migrate to new, larger disks without losing data.

Guess it depends on what problem you are trying to solve. Good luck!

Thanks Hook,

I had come to this conclusion before I saw your reply. It is a space problem. If I were to put in a  new 4TB drive, would mirroring happen automatically? I could then replace the other 3TB with a 4TB and  end up with 2*4TB mirrored.

Yes you can but obviously the disk volume is equal to the size of the smallest hard drive

Yes - here's the process.

David - whey you start from scratch that's when one defines how the NAS is run. So I'm afraid it would mean data loss.

However - if you transfer your files to an external, portable drive, re-set your NAS and upload the data you'd have a solution you're after.
