Hacked by Russians.

Following complaints it has been removed for review, as per forum moderation policy - frankly, reviewing this thread is something I'm in no particular rush to do, so I wouldn't hold your breath...

Richard,

I thought that lately people behaved themselves better. What were the complaints about? Why wouldn't you be particularly in a rush to review a thread which draws so much interest and heavy participation?

Haim

Haim, right now it's a question of priorities.  I'll be on it later.

Maybe best to start a Trump Part 2 thread: some possible titles:

  • Still Trumping Along
  • Trumped Again
  • Tweeting Don
  • POTUS

I propose Richard for Beatification, it's surely the work of a Saint to moderate that thread!

(With acknowledgements to the Catholic and Apostolic church for misusing their language - that was meant allegorically rather than literally.)

No doubt pushed by the Russians, because he must be so embarrassing to them.

Why? This is juicy stuff, a very fast and entertaining read. My sympathies with Richard lie when he has to moderate crucial 'life or death' topics like 'cable dressing', 'stacking order' or anything to do with the magical numbers combination 272/250 on the HI Fi Corner.

Completely agree.  Just imagine moderating the amp comparisons.

Err...  the clue to why is in the word 'moderate'?

The Trump thread has resulted in extremism; not just in political view, but also in emotion, language and excessive number of posts in the thread, all together resulting in severe divisiveness.  Only a masochist would want to be made to trawl through that mess.

I'd imagine that, like most any job, moderating has its ebbs and flows. Make hay during the ebbs and absorb the seeming pittance during the flows. If you agree to host emotional topics that involve music, politics and religion, you're going to have to deal with gnarly consequences sooner or later. "Beatification"? "Saint"? Such extreme use of nouns now prevelant in this Twitter/social media age. Somewhere along the line just being a "good guy" has been rendered meaningless.

Perhaps not gone but definitely changed. Tried to post there this morning and a message popped up saying: "The reply you posted must be approved by our administrators first. Once approved, it will be posted to our site." I might as well write for Pravda..

Perhaps the dead-hand of the departing Mr Spicer

Nothing changed. Just one of the words you used falling foul of the automatic naughty word filter. You posted the same reply many times over so I felt it best to delete all but one.

I just thought that language fitted best with the rash of hyperbole in the 'Trump' thread itself and so was most appropriate here!

I just thought that my hyperbolic language fitted best with the rash of my usual hyperbole in the 'Trump' thread itself and so was most appropriate here as well for me and a small group of likeminded individuals!

...because I can be helpful and generous with adding perspective and correcting misspoken text, I can assist in making the above humble statement more clear.  I am sure it was just a slip of a few fingers Huge and wow, the whole meaning appeared to be opposite of what you should have said?
