Naim app update. Is it just me

Since the update I'm having real problems with the app connecting to my 272... the app just searches for rooms eventhough I've always used the app so it was all set up, so both iPad and iPhone 7 continue searching,
Ive deleted the app and reinstalled it many times and also manually entered the IP address and name only for it to work until I close the app, then it just searches rooms again, I've rebooted my bt hub 6 and it's still the same, I've also restarted my 272....
When the app asks me to set up a new product it just shows the new uniti range
am I the only one with these problems?
No not easily. Having googled it the other day, the only way seems to be that if you had backed up your iPhone on iTunes previously then you can recover the earlier version of the app from that.
The only other suggestion I have is to reboot your router but I guess you will have tried that.
And of course you should tell Naim support because I think they are under the impression that 5.7.2 sorted all these problems out. You could use the in-app feedback but you may not be able to get at that if the app can't see your streamer.

Thanks David. I'll try naim support, as I'm getting really frustrated.

Yes, its much better than 5.7 and 5.7.1, but STILL not as good as 5.6!
For me too, it momentarily goes to the finding rooms first and then goes to the correct area. I'm sure this can be improved. Just make it stay at the last location it was when you return to the app!

Is it possible that 5.7.2 app works with 272 and not with ND5XS? Mine still doesn't work at all...
Not really. Naim do test with all the streamers and there aren't loads of people with ND5 XS saying it doesn't work...I'm sure there is a lot of commonality between the network electronics of ND5XS and NDX for example.
i have posted about your issue in the beta forum so the developers will read it, but you should still call Naim support.

I've just checked and found that I'm still running version 4.9 which seems fine to me. I'm not even aware of what new features or performance I am missing. I think I'll leave it like that until a firmware update of the NDS or NS01 forces me to update the application.
iOS version 10.3.3 (14G60), iPhone 6S 32GB. I'm not sure what network details would be useful here, the streamer is connected to cisco router through CAT6 ethernet.
Everything worked fine with 5.6, nothing else changed apart from the app was changed.

Oh I hope not! I was just saying that I don't think I'll make the update unless I'm forced to. I can't imagine that any updates to the legacy products would be on Naim Audio's radar at the moment.
Maniek, did you try reinstall the app? I have ND 5XS and on my iPad and iPhone app works perfectly.
Was planning a move to streaming exclusively with Naim - several £k of expenditure. Looks like my CD 5XS player will remain part of the set up... This thread is not comfortable reading.
5.7.2 and now 5.7.3 works perfectly with my ND5XS. I run ios 10.3.3 on my iPad . I think that NAIM released the 5.7.1 update earlier than it should have been . Hopefully a mistake they will not repeat in the future because it causes lots of frustation and bad comments about this great and respectable company.
5.7.3 has gone back to the LONG finding rooms delays for me so I'm back to 5.6 as I have spent FAR too much time on this and I cant see any up side to the 5.7.x versions.
5.6 perfect
5.7.1 slow and long finding rooms delay
5.7.2 a little delay finding rooms
5.7.3 long delay finding rooms, sometimes it doesn't find them at all!
5.7.3 still does not work on My qute. Never had any problems before. Really frustrating.

Over reaction Mr Judge if I may be so bold. The app(s) used on iOS & Android have been going through problems related to integrating the existing (legacy) products with the new platform & multi-room. The problems do not stop the streamer(s) playing music & for sure no nothing whatsoever to affect the SQ. I've been beta testing the iOS variants, I've found it fun & no matter what the problem was, it only needed (maybe) to close the app & try again or something like that, its delays the start of your music play by a minute or less, never once have I failed to play music. I accept that people are all different & as a beta tester I'm enjoying, but others do expect it to just simply work, add to that some peeps are glass half full, others are not. Finally until we started these app integration changes, the old app & its updates were rock solid & thats where I expect we will be again.
I don't mind waiting a minute for music to start but I don't want to have to wait a minute to open the app in order to mute or turn down the mucic for a telephone call or a visitor at the door!
Well today i stopped lisening to music because of app problems. I am getting very tired of this. I am getting upset and understand that Naim is losing clients from this. For me slowly my journey of 20 years is getting to a end. As we Dutch say this is nearly the last drop in the bucket.

Sorry no reply from myself, I've been in Brussels since last friday. David has answered (thanks) 5.7.2 is now in Appstore. No announcement from Naim that I can find, looks like we all need to keep up on our own. And 5.7.2 (beta) is working well on my NDX & most (most) problems look like to be fixed

There's not been an update from me on here over the last week as I've been on holiday - hence why I asked everyone with issues to email support@naimaudio.com so that someone else here could pick them up and run with them.
I've returned to the office today and am ploughing through emails (about 800 of them) and will need to catch up with where everything is relating to the issues reported before I can jump back in here with valid info but I will do so over the next few days - It looks like there has been at least one reply that went straight up here rather than coming to us to follow up so I need to find out what else there is here too.

Is your ND5XS on the latest firmware - it should be on version 4.4. The app does work with all of our streamers.

Just to add to my previous post, I have a Super Uniti running the Tidal update from just under 2 years ago, (sorry not sure what the version No. is) the SU is hard wired to a dedicated network switch and upnp NAS. I use an iPad running the Naim app to access control of the SU. The naim App. has been fine with my system since I started using it approx. 2 years ago. Then I updated the App just over a week ago, on or around the 15th July and I have had problems since. I noticed that the SU was slow to find my NAS and track selection unreliable.
I have always powered down my system after use.
During my most recent use I noted my experience in more detail, as follows:
On Saturday 22 July 2017, I powered the system up and once in 'steady state' I opened the App which took a further 30 seconds or so to find my SU, having selected the SU, I was able to access my music. Oddly the issues I had noticed immediately after the app update the week before seemed to have resolved themselves. However, about 2 hours into listening, the app froze and the SU displayed 'STOPPED' on its front screen. My NAS seemed to be 'stuck'.
I powered the system down, then powered up again. **
On this occasion the app was very slow to find rooms, but after several minutes found my SU. Tapping on the App to use upnp, allowed me to access my music lists, but the screen would return to the found rooms page after 5 seconds or so. Several attempts to play music off the NAS resulted in the same return.
I tried to select the current track at the bottom of the screen, but this simply said that it was loading tracks, nothing played. After a delay of approximate 10 of 15 seconds the track would start, play for a few seconds, then stop, this process would continue. I was not able to access the NAS library to change track.
I tried to select iradio, but the unit response seemed very delayed, like it was taking my instruction but not acting on it for say 10 to 15 seconds.
Once i got raio to stream, it would play for approx 5 to 10 seconds, then stop for the same time, then play again and so on.
By shutting down the app on the iPad and using the buttons on the front plate of the SU I was able to regain control of the SU, and NAS which then behaved as I would expect.
After listening for several hours I chose to power the whole system down, SU, App and NAS.
Tried the system the following day and found it to behave as per my description from ** onwards.
I used the system from the front plate buttons as my knees will testify to.
I hope that my rather layman type descriptions help.

I've been away for a few days, just got back, downloaded the latest version of the app and it still doesn't work.
The firmware is the latest version 4.4.00.
Is there another app version coming or is the problem somewhere else? The app still works fine on Android but not on my iphone.

I've been away a few days, but with a router restart and the newest App version, I am at last seeing my rooms. I have not actually used the App intensively yet, so I have nothing more to report, but thanks for your interest.
