OK thanks Richard

The Naim uniti Nova webpage now has the Nova installation manual, and support page like Core and Atom!

Just had an email saying Nova available at dealers today.

An early misfire?

According to my instagram feed, Audiovenue (Maidenhead) was unpacking their Nova this morning....

"Available to buy" which no doubt means that you can place an order and pay. And it says "experience it on demonstration at your local retailer" but it doesn't say when.

But I would be surprised if we don't hear very soon that they are at last shipping Novas, especially with both apps updated in the last 24 hours..

Moorgate Sheffield has got it, and Creative in Shrewsbury - at least their e-shots say so.

Had the same email at 14.00 and phoned my dealer - his demo Nova arrived today and he is hoping for his pre-ordered ones to be delivered in the next week or so. So am I!

It does actually say today.

My dealer got his yesterday, told not to switch on until the Firmware was released today, playing nicely apparently. Turned up out of the blue?

I stand corrected. It is indeed in the title.

Anyway good for Naim getting it out at last. When I heard it at the factory last November I thought it was a lot more refined that the Atom (as it should be given the price differential) so it will be interesting to see what the early buyers on the forum think of it.

I looked, and whilst there is a picture and link when you try to click through you get "Page not found". This was from the Uniti support page - is there another location that works?

Posted on: 25 August 2017 by David Hendon

If you go to UnitiCore by navigating from products on the Naim website home page and select the "support" bar on the UnitiCore page near the bottom you get to the UnitiCore on line support wizzard. Just below the photo of the Core you can tap "change device" and then select Nova and that takes you to the Nova online support. I just checked and that works fine.

Incidentally this worked for Atom too last weekend when the Atom on line support stuff was down.

Very sorry, the page has changed, not sure why, there was a manuals download, and support. The dealers have Nova, my demo has now been brought forward to next week, they are now burning it in. Still no update, yet those registered get email from Naim they are good to go at the dealer. Still very poor communication......my dealers thoughts not mine!

So aside from 80 versus 40W on the amp side, how else does the Nova differ from the Atom ?

Apart from the obvious - more inputs and outputs - the major difference as you might expect given the price differential is in Performance.  While I, along with some other forum members here, only got to briefly hear a pre-production prototype Nova vs. Atom back around Christmas time, it was clear that while the Atom was good - very good, the Nova was better still, really making more sense of the piece of music we were listening to. It was very hard going back to the Atom once you'd heard the Nova on the same speakers and piece of music. And that was a Nova that still had further to go in honing performance, so expect the finished article to be something rather special, particularly for a one-box unit.

Nova shipping has been announced on Naim Facebook page, in reply to a direct question I saw: "
Naim Audio Hi Greg, Uniti Star shipping is planned for September. Best, Naim
Like · Reply · 2 · 9 hrs".

No question was asked about the HDMI Atom that I spotted.

bigger case for beefer power supply with larger pcb/heatsink arrangement for larger power amp.  different preamp and more inputs ,every else the same I guess.   80 watts is more than most that will required .and a big que to buy them

Thanks my 3 week Atom will hopefully be sold, onto the Nova, thanks Richard and Audio1946.

I was one of those listening with Richard and I agree with what he says.  I expect that Nova compared with Atom will be a bit like Superuniti compared with Unitiqute 2. A whole different ballgame. That's how it came across to me at the time. Mind you, Naim were playing all of these loud, so a very demanding test for the Atom.

But I know which I would buy.

Thanks David - this works for me.
