Vibration disc

Have any forum members purchased the Naim cd vibration disc or other manufacturers vibration cd discs?

They are supposed to absorb vibration and reduce laser reflection, improve soundstage, imaging, separation of instruments ect ect ect

My question is simply, do they work?

I take it you're talking about the carbon fibre looking thingy on eBay ?

It may make a difference on some CD players but i'd give it a miss with your CDX2. Naim spent time optimising the mechanism and servo performance based on normal disc weight including the mechanical coupling between disc and motor (hence the design of the puck).

Best avoided - spend the £30 saved on more music

Yes, advertised for the princely sum of £29.99, on the well know selling site,  I have not ever come across them before, but as it was produced by naim,  I was curious ....

We're they made for naim's older cd models?

It wasn't produced by Naim. It's just some chap selling carbon fibre discs for various CD players...

I did a forum search and it came up with a thread or two on some cd models having a vibration issue, no doubt that's been sorted by the optimised puck design as you have mentioned.

As you say, best to avoid..

You searched for "models having a vibration issue"?  Well I'm pleased to hear that "optimised puck design" sorted it.

The models in question will be relieved...
