Change from xs2 to super nait 2

Posted by: Ncpphil on 30 July 2017

Hi all just thought i would share my own experience of changing my amp. The super nait in comparison to xs produces a much bigger wider soundstage and the organisation of music is fantastic. The one thing that really stands out is you hear the texture to instruments and voices. I have connected my flat cap to it from the word go so I don't know what it sounds like on its own, but I'm loving what i hear so I don't really mind.

It will very likely be better without the flatcap. Try it.

I agree with HH as above. IMO a HiCap would be a better supply.

Hi,
Thanks for sharing and I can only agree. Wonderful amplifier.
I've had mine for about 2 months but never experienced the burn in process/ hardness as described by many. Possibly the first few hours when the unit was going from cold. However, I had to move the speakers further from the back wall due to increased bass respsons. This coming from a 5si.
And I have to set the balance knob at 11 o'clock  to achieve center. This despite being sure that the speakers are properly positioned.
Someone who has experienced similar?
And speaking of power supply, the general opinion is that SN2 also performs well without the addition of Hicap DR?

Just tried it and its much better with the flat cap. It loses some of the detail and transparency.

Hi m37 not noticed any issue with the balance to be honest. It is a fantastic bit if kit. I purchased my xs new but the super nait is used but in mint condition for £1700.

The degree of difference to be expected is influenced by the speakers being used (in your case un-named ones!).

Hi Ncpphil, very good price for mint condition. Congratulations!

Huge,
I'm using Audiovector SR3 Signature if you're referring to my question..

Interesting finding. I'd never have considered using a FC on the SN2 as you loose the DR benefits of the bare SN2's pre, but go with your ears and enjoy. Tell us about the rest of your system.

What speakers are you using it with? Care to share your room dimensions?
