Thinking about 52/250. Recap?

I have an opportunity to pick up a 52/250. I was the original owner of the 250 and the current owner has had it recapped. The 52/super has never been recapped. Know for certain the supercap will need service, but would like learned opinion of how neccessary it may be to service the 52. Better I know, but needed?

My experience is it it will be worth getting serviced and you have peace of mind it's in tip top shape for amother decade.

Hi Majordude,
I had my 52/52PS serviced by Darran at Class A where he also did the POTS 8 upgrade on the 52. The difference is amazing, not cheap but on a sound for pound basis, its a must do in my opinion

Darran recently did my 82/HC/135s and the POTS upgrade, after a running in period they sounded like a totally different stack, everything was improved.

Another vote for Darran, he serviced my 52/S'cap and did a terrific job at, I recall, was a very reasonable price.

I had my 52, Supercap and 250 serviced by Naim and they sound to these ears, wonderful. No need to listen to music with that nagging doubt in the back of your mind wondering if they would/could sound even better. Fabulous combination with a CDS3.

Complete service on my NAC 82 was well worth the money. NAC 52 will be done soon and I am sure it will also be a good investment.

Class A have just serviced my 82/250/Hi-cap and even after only one week the difference is amazing. Darran said it would take around a month to come back on song, but the benefits are already audible. Admittedly, I also had the POTS 8 upgrade as well which will have had some effect. It's like a veil has been removed from the music.
