Your favorite sad songs?
(Yes, most of the time it's a wonderful world .. but sometimes it's also ... kind of blue?)

'Just walkin in the rain'...Johnnie Ray...

One of my father's favourites, and played at his funeral...

Interesting choice of a topic title.

My favorite sad song comes from the typically upbeat McCartney; The Beatles' For No One

Harsh, haunting, and brutally remorseful. Get over her and move on.

The music and instrumentation fit the lyrics so well.

Miss Otis Regrets, Lush Life, Solitude, Good Morning Heartache.

The other candidates could be:

Yer Blues - The Beatles

Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division

or the ultimate breakup song

MacArthur Park

The first sad song I remember,  Jim Reeves- He'll Have To Go.

Now, there is more than one

Savage Garden - Truly, Madly, Deeply

Paul Robeson - Nobody Knows The Trouble l've Seen

REM - Everybody Hurts

Ella Fitzgerald - any track from Let No Man Write My Epitaph, re-released as The Intimate Ella

In its original context You'll Never Walk Alone

Thank you all for sharing and please excuse the confusing topic title. It got lost in translation. If Richard Dane is reading this, please let me know if it's possible to change the title.

For me, and yes, it's weird: Scorpions, "Always Somewhere".
