what would be the best lest £££s spent on a whole system to get the best "Naim sound on a budget"

Atom, or a Nait 2. With budget contemporary speakers or old vintage Naim speakers ???

i heard a Nait 3 and some (current vintage) Elac standmounts not too long ago and it was very good.

Don't know but the only JV's approved amp would be the Nait2. As for speakers...

Nait2, Rega RX1, Chord Mojo

Edit:

"Atom, or a Nait 2. With budget contemporary speakers or old vintage Naim speakers ???  "   Was meant as an example.

Of course there are many other combo's to consider

I would suggest that you try the Nait2 with old JBL monitors that can be found for a reasonable price. You may find what you are looking for.

Unitiqute2b.   Crimson Electronics speaker cables.   Blumenstein Tritons on cinder blocks.   Your choice of source, but a MacBookPro via bluetooth works very well.  This little rig really rocks and makes the most of the Qute's capabilities.

Why not get one up on the Nait 2 crowd and seek out the better Nait (no no.)?

Rega Apollo, NAIT 5si and speakers to match your room

Not sure why PSB speakers don't get any love on this forum, but if you're on a budget you can hardly do better in my experience.

Nait 1, Cdi, Royd A7 mk2.

Used my Nait 2 with Ruark Sabres and then Talismans back in the day, still miss them now (LP12 front end). Both speakers can be had for a song nowadays.

A Muso new for £1000 and £10-20 a month for Tidal or Spotify subscription.

Or for £2000 ish a Uniti Atom, some very cheap speakers, speaker cables and LAN, then the subscription.

Other alternative is second-hnd, say £1500 ish for a classic Olive system, but the cables, CDs, etc.

Try a Muso, you get the Naim sound, 6 amps, 6 speakers, a dac all in one box......it's a bargain, and a great piece of engineering from Naim imo.

Rega Apollo, +1, the best low end VFM cd player in my opinion. It took a CDX2 to move me from it at 6x the price.

I have always enjoyed my Nait 5i, CD-5, Stageline, Flatcap 2, LP-12, nSats. Not high end at all but just a great listen. You can spend vastly more and not get near the enjoyment. Now days I even run my  UnitQute into this system.
