Stay connected setting

Posted by: magicia on 26 August 2017

I have read the Unitiqute manual and searched this forum, but I have been unable to find the answer to the following question:

Apart from saving power, are there any circumstances when the "stay connected" setting in the iOS app should be on or off?

I would appreciate clarification of the use of this setting

Thank you.

Its just saves battery power by preventing the device sleeping & a short delay in re-opening.  But I don't allow my iPad to sleep other than doze when the cover is closed.  And as I have my iPad charger(s) within arms reach - as we all do I guess - I have it always enabled.

Thank you Mike B.  Good to know it really is as straight forward as the manual suggests.

Although I use the iOS app most of the time I also use the Android app, mainly for Chromecast screen mirroring.  I had the impression that the choice of stay connected setting could be an issue when changing from one app to the other.

I think it could be an issue because if you tick stay connected then the app effectively ignores that the iPad is on standby. So if you try to use another instance of the app, it won't be able to connect.

I don't think there is normally any need to use "stay connected", but it does depend whether you mind the app taking you back to the current streamer home page when you rewake it.
