Subwoofer recommendation for Naim Nait 5si and KEF Ls50

Hello,

I am running mostly digital music from a Mac Mini to a V-90 DAC to the Naim. I would like to add a subwoofer and don’t have a direct subwoofer out from the Amplifier.

Any suggestions? I live in the United States. There seem to a bewildering choice of subs.

No recommendation for specific subwoofer (although I enjoyed the n-SUB) but the answer to your next question.

High Level (Speaker) connection of Subwoofer. - hint, the answer is near the bottom of the page.

Another "No recommendation for specific subwoofer (although I enjoy the B&W610XP) but the answer to your next question."

To set it up, I highly recommend getting a copy of REW and using a miniDSP UMIK-1 microphone.  Not only will it allow you to accurately stetting up the crossover from the mains to the sub - frequency, volume and timing, but it'll also tell you a lot more about your room acoustics.

This is going to be difficult .... to get good bass it is going to be expensive. Integration is the key ..... the ls50 has a pretty good bass response. I would go for a smallish sealed unit with amplifcation that works via the speaker leads .... you need some good crossover options on the sub .... try SVS... go on audiohicss web site.... good luck. 5i with ls50 should be pretty funky....
