Can you edit playlists with the Naim Uniti Core
Posted by: musicfan51 on 02 September 2017
I recently purchased the Uniti Core do go with my Naim NDS & 555Dr. I was using a Older HDX and Synology for my music . I figured out you can not transfer playlists !i did get all my ripped music files over to The Uniti Core and backed up to the Synology. In starting new playlist on the Uniti Core I wanted to move some songs around and change the playing order. I could not figure out how to edit playlists on the Core. Is there a way? Thanks for any help
I take you can not edit your playlists on The Uniti Core. No one replied and I do not see anyway to do it.
As I understand it, the Core uses the Naim app, and therefore only has the app playlist facility, in which they are stored on the phone/tablet, not on the Core. If that's the case, you can change the order of a playlist by simply dragging tracks into the order you want. (I'm not a Core user, but this is how the Naim app works with streamers, so maybe it's the same?)

Hi,
I have had your query flagged up to me by the forum administrator as otherwise we would not normally see your query on here ... I'm afraid you cannot transfer playlists from a UnitiServe / HDX to a Core.
If you have a playlist in the Naim app itself and wish to re-order the tracks then select the playlist and in the playlist "list" view you should be able to touch-and-hold a track and drag it to the new position you want it to be within the list.

Hi,
No ... just one track can be moved within a list at a time.
Best
Phil
Do you still have either the HDX or the Synology, with the playlists stored on it? If so, you should be able to play the playlist, then save the play queue (which is the same thing) on the app.
I do have the HDX. But it is connected to a small system upstairs now (after transferring all the albums to Core) and is not connected to the internet up there . Unfortunately.

Thank you Phil.

If you either move it temporarily closer to your router or switch, or buy a very cheap long Ethernet cable from fleabay, you could presumably make the HDX visible on your network as a server. Then you should be able to play the playlists, and save them on the app.
