Proac Tablette Anniversary vs nSat

Posted by: rsch on 13 September 2017

It's from the early 80's i desidered one, so recently i took the opportunity to get one of the last  available at the distribtutor.

Well, after a week of use comparing these with the Sats i'm really really disappointed. The difference is like night & day.

The Sats have much more of everything , clarity, speed ,dynamics, clarity, engagement and so on.

Now i'm going to return it to my dealer even if he seems pretty reluctant to get them back, since were ordered especially for me. Oh! and not to mention the Atacama stands, really reallt rubbish compared to Naim metalwork.

Not yet, please: just one last remark from me. Everyone has a perfect right to like or dislike whatever they want, and happen to hear. Wanting to close a thread quickly because the OP has a taste different from yours is, to say the least, childish.

Roberto has posted remarking – in perfect freedom, the same that allows a not marginal number of members here to promote obsessively what they have and what they like – that he has been disappointed by the Tablettes and prefers the N-Sats. Period. Personally, I think that all the replies implying that the Tablettes are, in a sort of absolute way, better and he is implicitly wrong were useless. The thread could have ended much earlier, but not because of R.'s replies, but because of the useless and silly insistence of others.

Chris, if Roberto was not happy with the Tablettes and has decided to send them back, what's the use of suggesting to him to keep them and try them with an amp that looks like having been out of production for twenty years or so? To a guy who is a radical Naim user, and from a guy (you) who is a radical Naim user and wouldn't – his own admission – buy anything from any other manufacturer?

This forum becomes weirder, and – what's worse – subtly Taliban each new morning. Perhaps this morning I am in one of my negative days, but I think that the lives of most of us would be better if the forum – the HiFi corner, at least – was closed for good. After all, the Naim that started it doesn't – and won't – exist anymore, and I think that Richard Dane would vastly benefit from such a loss.

Best to all,

M

Hi Max,

Please forgive my little moment of whimsy in happily recalling a far earlier time of hearing ported Tablettes sound very good indeed. Call it the audio equivalent of A La Recherche du Temps Perdu except that here the subject was little speakers and not little biscuits  ;-)

But no problem from me, Roberto is disappointed with the Tablettes and they have gone back.

Hi Chris,

As i alreday told, i have some fond memories from the past.  The last one at 2011 Milan Top Audio. However in such occasion, they were connected at the end of a very expensive system ( Top end Sme deck) Emm Labs cdp and Emm Labs  or N.Pass amps, don't remember. For me this experience had to be a sort of divertissiment on a system that actually i don't need and unfortunately has been not a happy one.
