Anybody Running Russell K Red 150s with their Naim Amp?

I  had a chance to listen to the Red 100s recently and was impressed.

I need floor-standers though and would be interested to hear if anybody had compared them with my present speakers (PMC 20.24).

Recently demoed Russell K120 and 150,s with the new Nova at Signals a week or so ago, they were both good. I also tried Kudos Super 20,s and PMC 25.26. I ended up buying the PMC speakers they just sounded so musical, at the end of the day speakers are a very personal choice.

Thanks Gazza,

I am sure you made the right choice.  I have heard 20.26s before and thought they were a really open sounding speaker. Th 25.26s are too pricey for me and 20.26s seldom appear on the used market hence my interest in the Russell Ks.

I had a listen to the 150 and thought them good...open and clear ... to me though the speaker looked bigger than the sound....and bass perhaps not as deep. But it sounded quite fast and punchy. A speaker that surprised me was new Spendor A2. I thought it would sound polite in a BBC sort of way .... nope it is really good open punchy speaker ... in the same vein as neat ... with a really good bass......I suggest you audition and let us know how you get on..

A home demo would be a good idea, in the larger of the demo rooms at Signals, not the main hall, I actually preferred the K120. However, my room at home would have been even bigger so perhaps the K150 might have worked better. Also I heard the K150 after the PMC 25.26, and had already made my mind up. Interestingly I was pretty sure I would buy the K 150,s based on hearing the K120,s at their opening day, just shows you, need to demo and compare to find what pleases your own ears.
