Will the Nova benifit much from a Naim Power supply

Planning on buying a Nova and wanted to know whether it will require a Naim power supply unit to sound its best.
You cannot add a power supply to the Nova.
A power amp can be connected to it however.
You could, though, try a Naim Powerline power lead on the Nova. As the Nova is an all-in-one, you only need the one Powerline so could be really good value upgrade.
However, best get the Nova first. choose some speakers. Sort out the speaker cables (recommend NACA5 with the supplied Naim speaker plugs). Let it all run in. Enjoy it for a while. Then make an appointment with your dealer to try out the Powerline.
It's all good fun.
Good advice Richard,as always.I really like this forum, fast answer and very helpful people here.....THANKS.
If you compare with Linn-forum,a friend has waiting one month and no answer from Linn.He had write over and over again......no answer.
Thanks again,Richard,Naim and all of you at this forum.
Nope. The Nova is beyond redemption in my experience. Don't bother putting any speakers in it either.
John.
Ha Ha Ha, Good one! Thanks everyone.
Doesn't the Nova allready include a Powerline light ?

John.
actually, it is common practice to use sub woofers in the boot of a nova
Yes all of the uniti range have a PowerLine lite lead here in the U K at least

Yes it does - at least for Uk units. However, the full fat Powerline should be a nice upgrade.
Looking at the Naim website it says the PowerLine lite is only available with a UK plug. I seem to remember Naim saying that they felt the standard UK plugs were not good enough, but that the continental plug combined with no fuse were already better, so did not need a revamp.
Gazza, the PowerLine Lite is just a marketing word for the UK plug; The same standard Power lead is used; one has a Naim design U.K. 13amp plug & it gets called a PowerLine Lite, or it has a Schuko plug & does not get called a PowerLine Lite ........
It's slightly more than marketing I think. The Powerline as I understood it had 3 main features, the upgraded IEC connector, the high quality cable, and the wobbly pin plug that's designed to give a better connection to the socket. The PLL has the last of these, so yep it's a Naim designed UK plug, but it was one of the selling features of the full fat PL, just not with the other 2.

John.
I tried test-driving a Nova GTE one time, given it was supposed to produce100BHP in very lightweight car... It was amazing how it managed to be completely boring to drive: It actually felt more like about 60BHP and the handling was just vague and imprecise.

It's the same IEC plug & cable as was supplied pre PLL. Only the 13amp plug is new.
I think you are both saying the same thing. The PowerLine Lite is a bog standard lead with a much simplified version of the wobbly plug from the proper PowerLine.
