Uniti 1 and Satgeline and seperate power supply (how to connect)

Hello, Currently I am using Stageline connected and powered by Uniti 1. As those who have got Uniti 1 or 2, it has got a phono' socked which provides power tp the Stagelinge as well as handles the signal from the turntable (via SNAIC 5). As I read a lot of comments suggesting that adding a dedicated power supply greatly increases sound quality I though that I can buy a secon hand HI-CAP to use it to power the Stageline. What I cannot work out is how to connect these. Should the HI-CAP be connected to the other socket on the Stageline? What then with the power from Uniti, or shall I use a different cable between Uniti and Stageling which does not carry the power? the other option would be to use the Uniti's standard RCA input but then the PHONO socket would have to be made redundant. So the question is how easily connect a seperate power supply to the Stageline while it is already powered by Uniti 1. Thank for an advice on this.

It’s all in the Stageline manual - have you looked at it? Instead of the flatcap shown in the manual, substitute your hicap. It’s worth posting in the appropriate part of the Forum if you want responses - in this case Hifi Corner rather than Streaming Audio.

The Hicap connects to the Stageline via  SNAIC5 - this provides the necessary 2 x 24V DC to power the Stageline.  The Signal from the Stageline can be taken either from the Hicap (any one of the 3 signal OUTs) or, if it's a later Stageline, you can take signal from the back of the Stageline directly.  For either option you will need a DIN4 - RCA Phono interconnect.  The reason you need this is that you can no longer use the powered DIN5 input on the Uniti, instead you must use one of the RCA phono inputs.

Thanks Richard. I bear this in mind that I will no longer be able to use the powered DIN5 input. Thanks a lot.
