Cable length Nova
Posted by: Oskar on 03 October 2017
I have ordered a Unity Nova with Naca5 cables.
I only need 2 meters on each side and my question is if you also on the Nova need to have at least 3.5 m length on the Naca5 speaker cable?

This is not sensitive to cables like the older black boxes
Thanks for your reply GAZZA!
Its tempting to reply "what does the manual say" ............ the answer to that is "what manual"
Longer ones sound better, and ideally the Nova will be off to one side so there is nothing between the speakers. I’d stick with 3.5m, if only because 2m lengths will be virtually impossible to sell, should you fancy a change at some point.
The 'quick start guide' makes no recommendation on cable length. The Nova 'support' pages recommend NACA5, but again, no mention of length. At least, if there is, I can't find it, but this is by far the clumsiest web resource I've ever tried to navigate my way through, and should, in my opinion, be released as a simple PDF.
I agree 2 m will be hard to move on
i would go for the 3.5 enjoy your Nova.
You should ask your dealer, or Naim support directly - I can see no point in buying more than you need if the 3.5m minimum recommendation doesn't apply to the new range. It's very stiff and awkward to handle, so hiding any excess can be tricky, and you would be wasting money.
Thanks for your answers.
I have 2*5m that I used for my Supernait 2 and that is way to long for my current setup so cutting it will not be an issue. Just wondering if the construction of the Nova limits me to longer cables.

We don't know! That's the honest answer - you should ask Naim, as we will only confuse you....
Just put the Nova where the Supernait was, and they will be the right length.
