Watch This Topic irritation

Can someone please tell me how I can set my account so it doesn't automatically "Watch This Topic"???

 

I irritates the hell out of me that every time I glance at a Topic it defaults to "Watch This Topic".

 

I want it to go away!!!

Have you tried, Manage > Your notifications and unchecking the relevant box?

There's the option to disable all notifications as well...

Even when all the notifications are unchecked, when you go to post a reply is still, automatically, ticks "Watch This Post"

 

Obviously can't take a F'ing hint.
