Yes, IIRC FM/DAB was never on the table for the new Atom all in one. I guess because they're made somewhat redundant by I-Radio. I don't know about the Nova or Star - will have to check.

For all that, I do listen to FM on my UQ2 rather a lot, but perhaps mainly because my Internet is so unreliable out in the countryside.

I am a regular FM user with my Nat03 but have a UQ upstairs where internet radio gets some play too

I have tried UQ on its FM and DAB and honestly internet radio is slightly better than dab and UQ FM section was not that exiting compared to my 03.

I prefer FM on the UQ2 to DAB. However, I'm not surprised that a proper separate tuner like the NAT03 is better still.

Hi Richard, tHe trouble with web radio is doesn’t always have the correct rights management (in the UK), and so there is some programming, especially certain sport fixtures, that you can only get over the air... and also because most web radio is unicast and not multicast it is capacity bound and/or limited on bandwidth/quality.. and even the deeper pockets of the BBC can’t currently do lossless on an ongoing basis via web radio... but it was very very good for the duration of the trial...

I must admit I thought I remember hearing the Nova would have a radio/DAB option.. but I can see no mention of it now, so perhaps imagining it unless you can un earth something

The FM option was promoted when Nova was announced, and there was a photograph of the back panel posted on the Naim website showing a terminal for an FM antenna.  This news is deeply disappointing.  In my experience iRadio is inferior to FM by a considerable margin, especially since the stations I like are usually 128K bitrate.  Guess i'll have to keep my UQ after all.

ahh indeed - using Google I have found references to Nova being available from certain retailers with FM/DAB for approx £150 extra - so there is some apparent confusion here... and I found an image of the back of a Nova with an FM/DAB connector  ... perhaps a prototype?

I’ve just read the Hifi News review, it states the DAB option is £150 for the Nova and £200 for the Star. It doesn’t say FM/DAB.

Communication is not clear.....

Despite many adds and pictures including price for the option. But the nova and star presented yesterday by my dealer did not have any DAB/FM on the back panel.

who knows the truth ?

When I ordered my Nova my dealer asked if I wanted the FM/DAB option, unfortunately for this thread I declined as I prefer internet radio but it's more evidence that it does (or did) exist as an option. I never used FM or DAB in all the years I had my Superuniti.

Looking at the Quick Start Guide https://www.naimaudio.com/site...igital%20Version.pdf . On page 3, there is a drawing of the rear panel which includes the FM/DAB connector, and is marked “optional”. ...

If it hadn’t been fitted as an option, it wouldn’t be there, would it? It’s on the price list as a £150 option.

Should still be coming for Nova and Star but work in progress I believe as perhaps not a priority.

Just double checked with Naim and the DAB/FM option for the Star and Nova is still an option and on the cards for future release when ready.

When I ordered my Nova at the beginning of September I ordered with the FM/DAB module. Two days later I got a call from my dealers saying that it would be at least 6 months before this became available. My dealer also asked if it would be retro-fittable, but the answer received was “don’t know”. I changed my order to no module and my Nova arrived 4 weeks later (last week).

I’d still like the module if it does appear and is retrofittable as I have an odd internet radio issue where nothing except Radio Paradise will stay playing beyond 3.5 hours. I’ve got a call raised on that, but as I’m going on holiday later today there’s not much I can do about it for a week.

That s exactly the point , no clear answer is available from Naim HQ . I did order my nova one year ago with DAB/FM option. Was happy to hear my dealer the delivery was coming soon but no DAB/FM available.

Would be great Naim to consider their customers and issue a clear information.

Sorry Pat. I did ask Naim and that's as clear as I can make it at the moment.

Just received update from my dealer Uniti Nova with DAB/FM should be released in 2nd half of 2018. No more details available by now.

Meaning an additional year to wait to get a product ordered a year to go!!!

I wonder if  more people out there do experience the same approx. Lead times?

Maybe time to consider another brand? I truly think about
