Q Acoustics Concept 500

Posted by: Bob the Builder on 12 October 2017

Has anyone heard them yet? After they were mentioned in another recent thread I looked them up and read a great review by Andrew Everard in Gramophone further investigation on Q Acoustics own website details the whole design concept behind the speakers.

I used to own Concept 20's in a dining room system with a little valve iPhone amplifier by Fatman and they were fantastic value IMO I very sadly had to yield on that little system now replaced by a little Bose speaker thing  so that I could win a bigger battle over floor standers.

Anyway great design by a British Hifi company that apparently sound great with Naim and they look pretty good to.

Shame they don't make them in the UK. I suppose it keeps the cost down building in China. The C500 looks an interesting design.

Yes it is a shame but I wonder how much they would cost to be made in the uk.  I can tell you though that the concept 20s that I owned where extremely well made and beautifully finished.

Quite right Bob - no issues with the build quality and they are very good speakers (Not surprising with Mr Fink involved) . I just wouldn't spend that much on something built in China.
