Uniti Star and Speaker Test

So, I've ordered the Uniti Star. I haven't heard it, I've read the reviews and as I mentioned in my first post a few weeks ago, I've hankered after a Naim system since it first brough out hitherto unheard of instruments on Quincy Jones' Back On The Block album. It means I can have a nice system and my little boy can have The Wheels On The Bus on CD in the living room.....Priorities- Balanced. 

Speakers. Well, Mrs R has a fine eye for detail and taste which doesn't always coincide with mine. I asked the question about which small speakers to get which weren't "boxy or too big" (her words).

So, tomorrow, I'm testing 3 sets of speakers.

Focal Domes

Eclipse TD508s and 307s

I'm seriously intrigued as to what I'm going to hear, and whether I'm going to like it. I've found plenty of references in other forums where people ask about the Eclipses and the general response is "yes, well, anyway, have you thought about....." in the way one avoids an embarrassing friend when they say something they shouldn't.

I appreciate some may shudder at my unconventional approach, but I'll report back on what I hear.

The only other spanner in the works is that we're moving house, 99% of my CDs are in storage and I have very few FLAC files available!
