Lindsay,
If you just got yourself a streamer you could listen to pretty much any album you wanted, whenever you wanted and intersperse that with listening to any CD in your collection without leaving your sofa. You never know, you might not miss your Roksan Xerxes so much.
You are now going to say 'OK but it won't sound the same'. Correct, it won't. But it sounds pretty damn good, just different.
I understand the allure of the black disc, I used to own and love a LP12. But you could be having so much fun while your beloved Roksan Xerxes is at the doctors.
Nothing I say will change you vinylphiles into digiphiles (CD doesn't count by the way) and thank goodness we don't all think the same way. Just saying, that's all.
Mischievous of Chesham.

+1
I digitised my vinyl about 8-9'years ago, and have never looked back. There is life after vinyld Better life, if you do your streaming right (but the DAC is critical).

Is that part of a music centre?
Sorry, that was naughty of me.
If I am honest, I often wonder what great albums would sound like on a fully loaded LP12.

I've just had a Krystal fitted to my aro and... WOW! It's 1:24 in the morning and I've just finished with the air guitar. My fingers are almost bleeding!

Intrigued...what PSU upgrades for the Xerxes are there? Or have you sent the PSU you already have off for an update/upgrade?
My wife's son's Xerxes still has a very old DS4 (the precursor to the 1.5) PSU and I wonder whether I should get that serviced for him.
The demise of the old Roksan forum was very frustrating, although it had become somewhat sparsely populated towards the end.

Something I should know about?

Then that's the third one I'm aware of. The other two, serial numbers 34 and 138, were described in the HiFi Kabin forum as having the cantilever shear off part way along its length; there's even a photograph of the latest one. It might be worth you reading that thread.

Hi Clive
yes 138 is mine ????

Ah, sorry, yes I've just realised the connection between user names. I will be following your tale on the other place. Please keep us updated on developments.

FT/Nick:
The Xerxes is now 8 years old and whilst they are pretty maintenance free periodically a check over to ensure everything is level etc is a good idea.
But there are 2 potential PSU upgrades. One from Roksan or a Vetere and I’m having the latter installed.
Slightly more seriously with regard to streaming I do have a Spotify account for checking stuff out which I use through Chromecast.
Regards,
Lindsay

Lindsay,
This in how and why I use Tidal on my NDS - primarily for music discovery. It is not an exaggeration to say music discovery on Tidal has reinvigorated my interest in music and totally rejuvenated my music collection. If I hear something great on Tidal (often recommended on the Music Room on here) I go and buy the CD (often for very little money on the river) and rip it. For me, streaming is nothing short of a revelation!
Sorry to divert your thread, I just wanted to say, that's all.

You need an upstairs turntable system like me (RP6 etc into small standmounts). The spare bdrm is also where I keep my vinyls so they're not cluttering up the living room.

Excellent, enjoy Lindsay. The Vertere power supply made a noticeable difference to my Xerxes 20+ too at the time, especially when the power phasing was manually tuned in to minimise motor vibration. Enjoy!
